GOOD GAWD, RICK - - - - - -

THAT SHOULD HAVE SET OFF THE NEIGHBORS SMOKE DETECTORS.

I CAN'T QUITE COUNT THE NUMBER OF CANDLES THERE BUT MINE WILL HAVE 70 ON IT THE END OF DECEMBER. LAST YEAR THERE WERE SO MANY THAT THE KIDS HAD TO LIGHT THEM WITH A PROPANE TORCH.

DISCUSSIONS OF CHRONOLOGICAL AGE ARE A FORM OF MENTAL MASTURBATION. REAL AGE HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH A CALENDAR. IT INVOLVES DREAMS AND GOALS - - - AND STILL HAVING THEM. WE ARE WHAT WE CHOOSE TO BE - AND THAT INCLUDES AGE. I WAS JUST SHOPPING, LAST EVENING, WITH MY 32 YEAR OLD FIANCE - FOR HER WEDDING GOWN. MARCH 20 IS GOING TO BE THE BIG DAY. HELL, I FELT LIKE I WAS 35 BEFORE I MET HER AND SHE'S TAKEN AT LEAST ANOTHER 10 YEARS OFF OF MY AGE. (SHE ACTUALLY SWEARS THAT I'M "YOUNGER" THAN SHE IS).

SIMON - - - -

IF YOU PUT A GUN TO MY HEAD I MIGHT BE ABLE TO REMEMBER 100 OR SO WORDS IN YOUR BEAUTIFUL LANGUAGE. MY SONS ACCUSE ME OF SPEAKING "BAR ROOM" SPANISH AND GERMAN. (JUST ENOUGH TO GET ME INTO SERIOUS TROUBLE). I AM RATHER PROFICIENT IN RUSSIAN - A LANGUAGE VERY SIMILAR TO FRENCH IN A LOT OF WAYS, AND I AM STUDYING CROATION WITH MY FIANCE (THAT'S WHERE WE'RE GOING ON OUR HONEYMOON). I CAN ALMOST GET BY IN ENGLISH - ON A GOOD DAY.

BON SOIRE - - AND - - Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY.

Scott,
Sold a Porsche twin turbo to get my 2nd Cobra, taking delivery on an SPF this month. I'm 66 and they won't let me put that on the title either............

tommi 10-29-2004 10:36 AM

I'm 15 and I can't wait 2 build my first Cobra. How much will it cost me? r American cars harder to build or easier than British ones? i suppose (after my last ride in an American car,) it'll be easier, you don't have any susspension to worry about.

LwCwb 10-29-2004 12:52 PM

That was close, Im still the youngest one here (14):D

They are not cheap to build, even a used Factory five will run about $25000 if your lucky. American cars take a lot less work than British cars (sorry, couldnt resist.) I thought all cars had suspension;)

They are fun as hell though, I got my first ride a few weeks ago in a Cobra, 427 sideoiler. Ride of my life and I wont ever forget it. These cars are special, people turn their heads to get a better look, people say nice car, nothing even begins to compair to the fun and excitment you can have in one of these. Good luck.:)

tommi 10-29-2004 05:30 PM

Yo, Mike, all right, most cars have suspension, but the Brits make fun of the Yanks autos because of there crap ride. I've never even seen a Shelby in the flesh, let alone a 427, I was worried for a while, I thought this club woz all for 40+s, no offence, there's nowt wrong with being 40+..

LwCwb 10-29-2004 05:34 PM

Cobras ride very well, you dont even feel the bumps after hitting 90:D

Its nice to see others my age intrusted in Caroll Shelbys cars. 40+ year olds, good one. Every one on here is nuts:LOL:

tommi 10-29-2004 05:44 PM

Wow, you again, you seem to be evrywhere, have you seen the thread I set up about favorite Shelbys? Only one reply so far.

LwCwb 10-29-2004 05:47 PM

No, i havent seen it yet, you will catch on in about a week how all of this works, then when you hit 100 posts you start to feel like you have a second family. Ill try to find that thread. Theres a great photo galery on here too.

flipper35 10-29-2004 06:04 PM

I like that description Blackjack, an age reversion machine.

tommi 10-31-2004 03:43 AM

Originaly posted by Mike:
I'm still youngest here (14)

I'm still 14 but I've only 2 months till my birthday, I might still be the youngest here.

Ron61 10-31-2004 04:32 AM

Darn,

When this thread started I was in the middle of the pack. Now I am on the very top upper end. Thread must be limited to 50 year old or older to get me back down in the average.

Ron  :JEKYLHYDE

uncltodd 10-31-2004 10:11 AM

Ron, my "baby brother" just had his second grandson.

I hate him- he's 50, has all his hair, and only one grey one.

I'm 53 and what little I have is mostly white.

Of course, he is a sober, industrious, productive bean counter.

I am an obsessive, compulsive, self-destructive adrenaline junkie.

Same parents, different mood, I guess.

I'll add my 2 cents now.

I started this car crazy stuff when I was VERY young as you will soon see in the photos I will provide you.

I have owned 105 cars (as of now) and am currently age 60 (61 on March 2nd)

Age is certainly NOT a deterant to fun. I will be running my Backdraft Cobra on the track in Las Vegas this coming Saturday.

And on Friday night the 12th of November I will be drag racing my 65 Shelby GT350 at Firebird (against my WIFE who will be racing our 2002 T/A WS6 Convertible against me).

This is what you have to look forward too. Here is where it all started: http://inficad.com/~moneymanager/cars.htm

LwCwb 10-31-2004 11:33 AM

UT, you have a Cobra, your brother dosent. That should even everything out:LOL:

hey,littlecobra 10-31-2004 11:36 AM

young, Mike, not exactly...

Mike, UT doesn't have a Cobra. He doesn't know where it is!
I am happy to say after 7 weeks at KC I do have mine back. Finally!

UT, it will surface. I'm sure. Sometime, somewhere!

Ron61 10-31-2004 03:03 PM

Hey,

Now quit picking on UT. I think I saw some of his Cobra parts listed for sale on a Texas forum. Kristen, did yours come back with any blue parts on it ?
And for the young guy's like UT, I will be 64 on December 23rd. Now you should all feel better.

Ron **) :JEKYLHYDE

uncltodd 10-31-2004 03:09 PM

Doc, even at the age of 5 you had enough sense to keep your"best" ride on a trailer. I'm impressed.

Kirsten- Bite me. Gunrack was supposed to be here today, but Boudy has dropped off everyone's screens.

UT is not happy.

LwCwb 10-31-2004 03:26 PM

:(

UT, I was really hoping you would get GR back today, did you get the email I sent you yesterday?

hey,littlecobra 10-31-2004 03:32 PM

I'm not really picking on him, Ron, just a little ribbing; as I recall, I got a little picking on from him when mine was in the shop a long while....!! Something about parts scattered hither and yon? They were all afraid of my threats, and yes, all of Pepe's pieces were returned and put back on him by the time I got him last week!!!
Oh, and to keep this "on topic" I'm still the same age I was the last time I was on this thread!!!! :p

"A question from my wife. Is building and owning Cobras an adult thing or just a mid-life crisis kind of thing?"

Interesting question...

Considering the time and expense involved, the decision to build a Cobra might not be very "adult" at all. On the other hand, I don't think its as much a "mid-life crisis" as it is a "mid-life revelation". While growing old is a given, growing up is optional.

My youngest is on to college next year on a scholarship! After a '69 Super Bee, a '67 GTO, two '66 Chargers, two '66 Impala's, a '73 AMX (401 Go Package), a '66 Mustang, and a '72 Mach 1, her 45 year old Dad is going to build his dream car.
