Well see how you are! I was saving that for the homebound leg. Thought it would give us a chance to run Park Link Road.

Ratti-Tat-Tat, No doubt, makes no sense for youse west-siders to come all the way out to East Bumbscew, rather than just scooting down the 10...unless you'd rather not drive freeway all the way. That's why I'll see some on Idaho, and some at AJs in Tucson.

So the plan, I take it, is for some folks to meet at the Chevron at Firebird at 0530 hrs and Karl to leave from Idaho and the 60 around?? When do you want to leave Karl?

Leave the Chevron at Fire Bird Lake at 6:00 is plenty of time. Will be at cars and coffee by 7:30. Ina road exit I believe so not even 90 miles at speed limit of 75 or so. Layers would be good for the MT.

If you guys get off at Ina, you can head east and it'll take you to La Encantada where AJ's is. Just stay on Ina and it turns into Skyline. La Encantada is at Skyline and Campbell, north/west corner.

Danr,
I reiterate:

"Google sez this is less than 2 hrs from Idaho and the 60, so I'll be leaving the Chevron (Idaho/60) 5:30ish. Should get to AJs well before 8. See youse at either the Chevron or AJs"

Well this is interesting....

Usually it's the east-siders, versus D-Ratti, arguing about the morning meeting place.

Now we've got 2 east-siders arguing with each other...

Hmmm.... I live exactly half-way between Karl's meeting spot, and Danr's meeting spot...

It'll be a game-day decision.

Default Friday Night at Tucson Motel

OK, you got me. I am planning on representing in Tucson on Saturday with the cobra. I have booked a motel room at INA & I-10 for Friday night. Luxury Motel 6. I'll be driving down Friday evening. Departure from home about 3pm to get south of PHX before rush hour. Arrive at motel about 5pm. I reserved a room with 2 beds so if anyone wishes to join me, sleep late and save some bucks, just post on this thread. See you in Tucson, Saturday.

Robert, Robert, Robert. Wassamatta, your cup holders fill up with lint?

We're not arguing, I just told folks which way I was going. Now, Danr, and Ratti-Tat-Tat do live to argue....

I don't mind the idea of driving an extra 25 miles by going down the interstate, I just like buzzing along a two lane road much better than running along side bigarse trucks with tires taller than my little skate. Also, passing traffic on two lane roads is more "stimulating" than on the interstate, where the probabilities of on coming traffic is so greatly reduced. Yeppers, Yahoo!

Dan,
I'll meet you and whomever else at Firebird and go down the I-10. It will take close to 1.5hrs to get there, hopefully less at that hour of the morning, from Firebird. I drive that route regularly as my Mom lived right there. And of course, Bob is doing something totally different than everyone else!

At least Bob is a team player, he just wants to head down a day early. (3PM on a Friday afternoon heading south???, good luck Bob)
Now Karl on the other hand, he's one of those cats that Bob mentioned a while back.(it's like herding cats)
I kinda think Karl doesn't like to drive in a group, he hosed the sh!t out of me and Cobra Jim on the Rt.66 run.
Note to self, DON'T park behind Karl at a local gathering starting spot because it takes him 10 minutes to start rolling.

Tru Dat! Sometimes longer. So many details before "contact".

Don't remember leaving youse guys on RT 66. Now there was a run up through Punkin Center and Roosevelt where I could see no need to not take advantage of wringing my tiny engine out a bit since I could see clear road at least 1/2 mile ahead. Didn't let a couple little yellow lines deter me.

I was referring to the AM departure from Cheveron or lack of departure in this case.
No big deal, Jim and I caught the group 20 minutes later.
