According to AZ 511 - ADOT outside of the Superior slowdown there is nothing the rest of the trip.

I fixed my steering issue and I'm building my new radiator hoses now. Should be good to go in a few hours. See you guys at Doc's in the morning ready to run.

Bob, Karl says he drove it yesterday and most of the road is repaired. We are in for the straight thru run.

See you all bright and early at my office. I'll be there around 6:15.

Actually it may still be dark, so maybe not so bright, though early!

Oh boy... I woke up this morning to rain, and it's been coming down off an on all day.
Did you guys get wet on the drive home?

Little rain coming out of Globe but it poured on us at the 101 and 202. At speed it wasn't too bad.

I stayed inside the car where it was dry, however the outside got good a wet around Anthem. I don't know about the others. Car Nut and I went to Payson then to Camp Verde, at least one car went to Payson and to Fountain Hills and the other went down the Salt River Canyon. Traffic for us was pretty excellent for a Sunday. I got 28.3 mpg from Showlow to home.

I had the same experience a month or so ago driving out to Saguaro lake. As long as I was moving pretty fast most of the rain blew over and around me but I got soaked when I slowed down.

Trip Results
Got home 1:30pm 604.6 Miles total round trip. 20.7 happy mpg. Every stop went on schedule except washrooms broken in Clifton. Drizzle on and off from Globe to Phx on way home. Not bad, just dirty roads. Great trip. No car problems. Only Dan and I made it to DQ. Saturday was dry all the way, almost. Roads good, people good, rooms good. Bruce & I saved $25 each by rooming together. Early to bed. Bill, Don & Scotty would love Bruce's snoring. Maybe Scotty's name should be Scotchy? Saki brothers Bruce N & Dana tried to keep up. Mike lost a skirmish with the shower. Jamie tried to keep us civilized but failed. Tried Mustang Stuffing Sat night going to Booga Reds. Several walked. Keith was everywhere all the time. Karl kept searching for hotter sauce. Dan was our designated Rabbit. Paul drives his Mustang like his cobra.
Played Creedence and Eagles in honor of Gary & Vicki. Played “Hey Little Cobra” in honor of Mikie over and over and over. We’re at the age now where a pit stop every hour isn’t enough and POOP is a big subject.
What happens in Springerville stays in Springerville.

I caught rain halfway down the hill from Payson. Not bad at all. Then in Scottsdale it rained cats and big dogs on Shea. Could not see through the windshield and was able to pull over and park under a parking roof. Scary stuff. Car is being fan dried now.

I thought this.may be the first Coronado Trail run that I didn't get wet. No such luck. I got.hammered between the 202 and home.

Danr, Danr, Danr....what on earth language are you typing? God forbid proof reading.
I got home about 11:15. 10 minutes before some nice thunder-bumpers and huge rain drops. Had very few sprinkles in Globe but not even enough to have any pavement scum. I'm sure Keith got drenched on his way to South Flagstaff.
Had to stop in Globe to peel off a few layers of clothing since the temperature had gotten very comfortable.
An excellent little weekend run. Since I live in God's Country, I put only about 525 miles on. Drop in the bucket after the previous 11 day jaunt to CA.
Keith and I both really enjoyed the drive through the Salt River Canyon. Still plenty of snug curves but more room between them to stretch out the cars to higher speeds.
BTW, my Garmin registered a high of 114, and I'm sure that was with CarNut threatening to climb up my quick jacks with his Barcalounger JAFM.
Sure Mike.....we ALL believe you hurt yourself in the shower and that Jamie didn't have anything to do with it....

Good... Next year, while you all eat at Booga Reds, Karl and I can head over to Los Dos Molinos and eat...
I wish I could have gone. The "engagement" my wife signed us up for turned out to be a party at one of her "horse-friend"s house.
Listening to horse-talk the entire evening made me understand exactly what it's like for her to hang around with me at a car show...

Where to start, my Cardinals lost another home game, after waving Karl off I got rained on about the last 3 miles before and the first 2 or 3 miles after the 60 and 101 transition going north. As explained elsewhere while rolling along nicely in the rain it wasn't bad, even felt good and with no carpet I didn't care anyway. I did learn something though, if it rains hard enough and I drive fast enough windshield wipers don't work so well because there is more water on the inside of the windshield than the outside. Oh and with all the spray from the cars trying to keep up with me in the rain it looked like the inside of a big cloud. To sum up, I enjoyed the trip immensely, very good driving up that way.
