Not much progress, the rain must be keeping the builders away.

The water tanks turned up this morning at least. 2x 23,500L tanks should keep the gardens alive over summer. It's a pity they weren't in position and hooked up, I could have been collecting some of this nice rain.

Moving them will be interesting as they weigh over 400KG each. But I'm told once you get them up on their side they are fairly easy to maneuver with a couple of people.

I'm very impressed with the quality of these tanks. Much better than the one connected to the house. Anyone considering installing a tank should talk to the guys at Global Rotomoulding http://www.globalwater.com.au/

A big step forward today on the shed. The concrete floor went in. Hooray!!

I went for a 6" slab of 32MPA concrete with F72 mesh in it. It's actually more like 7" in the middle where the hoist will go.

These pics probably give a better perspective of the size of the shed. The concrete trucks hold 6 cubic meters of concrete and we had 6 of them in during the day. The drivers were able to back right into the shed and unload so no need for wheel barrows or a concrete pump.

It was a tight squeeze getting them in the door. We were a little worried that once they had dumped the concrete the load coming off the suspension might mean the truck wouldn't get back out but we had about 2 or 3 inches clearance at the top of the door.

The guys didn't finish till about 8:30PM. They were working it over with a helicopter float to give it a burnished finish. It looked pretty good under lights but I can't wait to see it in the daylight.

I checked out the slab this morning before leaving for work. It was firm enough to walk on and has turned out real nice. It's pretty cool finally standing in there looking out.

The guys will be back today to put the saw cuts in it and remove the boxing.

Long ago I decided you couldn't have a work space shared with your garage. The cars either end up living outside because the garage gets taken over or they get damaged and dirty from living along side your projects.

Also the last thing you want to hear is "Honey can you move this engine block so I can drive to the shops."

I see ya got heaps of facilities for the pole dancers but where's the bar and spa going?.

Remember ya competing with Stiffy so you gotta invest in visitor facilities.

Never been a big fan of racedeck for a workshop Les. Looks good for a garage floor where you park the car but I'd rather work on a smooth concrete floor rather than tiles. I'm probably going to either use a concrete sealer or epoxy coat the floor. Got to let it go off for a few weeks first though.

There will be a dunny and a shower but I'm not sure about a bar at this stage. Possibly a Pool table and definitely a beer fridge though.

Stiffy is building an automotive palace, I'm just a rural bumpkin. I'll doff my cap as he drives past.

Just took delivery of my second 9K litre water tank this morning and it only got part way through "the shed" cause my cobra's arse was partly in the way.

Shows you how little room the metro strugglers have to work with by comparison!

The blokes came back and fitted the roller doors and the side access door on Friday. It's finally all secure and lockable.

The next job is running the power in and the storm water then clearing and cleaning the area around it. I need to build up the area in front with crushed rock as it's a bit of a mud hole.

Not as big as Mike's shed but i just got the foundations dug and then it rained all day and filled them up with all the water from the stormwater pipes the digger broke. its forcast for rain tuesday so im pulling the boys off the jobsite to get the concrete poured before the rain comes back on tuesday.
