I think if I were going for an Australian kit I would be looking at the recommended parts list supplied to complete the kit.
I would be looking for relatively contemporary parts - so that I could source them reliably.
I would also be looking at the finish of the raw product - Plums example is a good one
G-Force I think
Starting with a good body/chassis combo means its a lot less time/money to complete to a higher standard.
You'll also notice the dish on the rear of the above car vs. the CR. The CR has much less dish and that's the way modern cars are - which some prefer.
