Hold you to that Peter. Can't wait to see this next year. Feel like I know the car so well, following your thread all the way through!

Just finishing off some interior bits.

I needed to create a partition to separate the boot area. i mocked one up out of MDF as it wouldn't scratch the paintwork during the multiple fittings to create an exact shape. The template came out so well, and i planned to paint it, I decided to use template rather than make an aluminium partition.

I had to chop 300mm off the wife's broomstick and split down the middle to create the impression of rolled ribs.

Made a top shelf and painted it flat black to reduce reflections on the rear window.

It all came together.

Very nice Peter all the effort must be worth it. Looks like you could have had a Lyrebird emblem on the front if you were going a little quicker.

That is all Tim's work. I just sat in the car and steered. For years I've been trying to explain various aspects of the car to the family and yet even seeing and touching it meant very little to them. Tim's magic has finally relayed what it is all about in a medium they seem to understand. Non-car folks love the clip.

Just how much better is this than still photography. I can't think of a better way to remember, and pass on, what your car meant to you.

Tim is a car fanatic who built and drives a Clubman (Lotus 7). He knows and understand exactly what our cars and driving them means to us. This clip grew out of a simple request for a 'walk-around' video a friend in the US requested.

Chris, get in contact with Tim and have a film made of your Cobra. Perhaps you could sound track Bruce Springsteen's 'Born in the USA' - just a thought.

(edit) That song is probably inappropriate. It was actually born in the UK and grew up in the USA.

Me too.

I've watched the video several times now, and I hear your words as well. Non car folks may very well love the clip, but car folks like us ------ we understand.

After the movie there always comes the book.

At a friend's suggestion I have compiled my quarterly diary notes into a coffee table book. It has been quite an undertaking but a first edition has been produced – see samples attached .

The diary notes started out as a record for my own use or anyone working on the car. They morphed in a quarterly update for friends, etc. I was amazed to discover there were close to 32,000 words. Space limitation (80 pages) means the number of photos was limited but there are still over 400 included.

I'm hoping it adds some provenance to the car and MAY add value if the car is ever sold.
