Well, in pondering the question of whether Tenrocca should be banned, I relied on Google for a definition of "wit"

wit 1 (wt)n.1. The natural ability to perceive and understand; intelligence.
2. a. Keenness and quickness of perception or discernment; ingenuity. Often used in the plural: living by one's wits.
b. wits Sound mental faculties; sanity: scared out of my wits.

3. a. The ability to perceive and express in an ingeniously humorous manner the relationship between seemingly incongruous or disparate things.
b. One noted for this ability, especially one skilled in repartee.
c. A person of exceptional intelligence.

Idioms: at (one's) wits' end At the limit of one's mental resources; utterly at a loss.

have/keep (one's) wits about (one) To remain alert or calm, especially in a crisis.

But this caused me much anguish, as he clearly fails on several of the above definitions.

I've decided however, that given he made a choice of using an LS engine, together with only complying with definition b. above then he should be allowed to stay, despite his choice of occupation.

I never did like my teachers.

I thought that last one fitted beautifully with definition 3A.

Clearly I am just another subject you know nothing about. Add it to your infinite list. Still laughing about "university type" (The only funny thing you have said in this thread)

Sambo - my mates here (I could list them, but wouldnt want to offend anyone by leaving them out.............or putting them in) know I dont take anything seriously, so dont be concerned about the slings and arrows pointed my way. I once told Gav and the gang they could never say anything to really upset or offend me - they try. They fail.

Les - love your work as always.

Cheers.

The banter is great, but it has gone on long enough and I for one would like to see the thread return to 302 rebuild state. How about if you want to continue then do it in the pool room. Failing that, Geof perhaps you should start a new thread.

I dont HATE anyone who owns a cobra, HATE is a strong word that should never be used when dealing with other people, no doubt next time im in sydney and he invites us over for a 5 course banquet with a cask of wine, i will bring a bottle of grange and he would probably find we have more in common than he thinks.
From your inference, do you think hes naughty.
One day we will get to adelaide, my partner has never been there, and maybe we could catch up to check out your cobra, that morrison setup is very nice, id like to see it in the flesh, well done. tomcat

I'm sure Mando was using "ar$ehole" as a term of endearment

I don't hate anyone either (cobra owner or not)- some take offense at some of the stuff I say, but Im just a $hit stirrer, and really don't take any of this stuff very seriously. I was talking to one of the folk on my list about the forum, and those that get upset at stuff that is said on here. Particularly if negative opinions are given about their cars.

In a forum, if you post pics or details of their car on here, you are opening yourself up for comment. If its negative, suck it up and take it on the chin. eg. In the past Ive upset a few folk by suggesting the drb shape isnt entirely pleasant to look at when compared to others that are available (still a nice car, just not as pretty, and widely acknowledged by most). That doesnt mean I dislike drb owners, or ford owners, or owners of cars with gold wheels. It isnt a "personal attack" to make comment at someones car - if anyone sees it as that, then just man up. Seriously.

Ive coped heaps over mine - some open, some behind my back. (Particularly after 2009 nats where for the first time in the history of the universe a chev powered cobra was crowned "most original" *). And quite frankly, I dont give a $hit - its my car, Im building it how I like (still not finished - and unregisitered - thanks for reminding me Ash), and if you want to make comment go ahead. It bothers me not what anyone else thinks. I make no claims about it except those made with the intent of stirring up those who take it all too seriously (* this is an example of the same).

Wazz - if Spooky hadn't already offered to snuggle up at Nats, Tommy boy and I could have got cosy. Missed out Tom.

Apologies for the rant and continuing off topic. It wont happen again.

Tomcat, I've met Andrew a couple of times at the Nationals and just like other Cobra owners and lovers would go out of their way to help others that asked. I'm quite certain Andrew was fully aware of what my post suggested.
You may find the hate word overly aggressive but it was all in jest.
Should you and your partner ever have plans to visit Adelaide please let me know. You and any other Cobra lovers are always welcome.
I'll try and not go of topic again!

Regards

Merv

Yep, waiting for parts.

In the meantime, I have been attacking the *tidying the engine bay* part of the rebuild.

I have two main ideas - one is to line the engine bay and the other to hide as much of the wiring and plumbing as possible. Here is the start I have made on the lining.

I initially wanted to have the complete polished engine bay, but reading some other comments, I don't think I want the upkeep. I also considered HPC for the Al sheets but I am not sure how that would turn out. So at this stage, I am going for a coloured finish - either painted or powdercoated (if I can reasonably match the colour).

Cheers

Geof
