In 1968 I bought CSX2047 for $3200. I loved the car and sold it in 1973 for
about $6000. Today it is close to a million dollar car and if I still had it I would
sell it because my ERA FIA is a far better car in all respects.
In about 1963 I bought one of the 2 1958 Purple People Eater Corvettes...a full
unregistered race car, complete with 3 rear ends and and extra set of race wheels
mounted with Blue Streaks. Nicky Chevrolet in Chicago sold it to a friend who
raced SCCA with it. I bought it from him for $1600 and also raced it in SCCA
for two seasons before being called up to Viet Nam. I sold the Corvette for
$800 as I remember. It is now lost.
