Nice work.
Thanks for sharing.
How far away do you think you are?
At this rate it's looking like you'll be done by next Sunday. :)

Cobra01 02-13-2014 04:24 AM

Hi Dimis

I wish i was going to be finished next Sunday but there is still lots to do

1. Mount fuel pumps and filters as well as return lines for the charcoal canister as well at the fuel gauge sender unit.

2. Dipstick for the engine(i ruined the 1st one i got) I am now a certified dipstick.

3.I have to mount the gauges in the dash panel and fit it to the car.

4. There is some polished Stainless stuff that has to be done i.e. bonnet latches and roll bar things.

5. Exhaust system to be finished and Ceramic Coated.

6. Header tanks for the coolant and reservoir for the windscreen washers.

7. Windscreen to be fitted.

8. Boot latch has to be made and fitted to the car.

9. New wheel adapters for the pin drive wheels GT 40 style wheels.

10. Wiring of all the electrics and fitting of a Mass Flo Throttle Body.

Well that's the top ten and i will work through them one at a time and i am sure that I have missed something i always seem to.

Cheers

Awesome Brad!

What are you planning for the interior? Leather or vinyl? If you don't mind me asking, what were you quoted for the full interior trimming incl. carpet and how long did they suggest it would take?

Are you doing a stereo and glove box too?

d488y2 02-13-2014 01:39 PM

Great Work Brad, the finish line is getting closer.

Cobra01 02-13-2014 01:59 PM

Hi Paintwerks

The interior will be mainly black leather i am not going to dress up the interior too much .

I haven't been down the carpet path yet but I was thinking of a bit of a spartan look with some Aluminium showing.

I wont be having a stereo or radio I want to be able to hear the sound of the wind in my hair and the exhaust.

Glove Box !!! I haven't really thought about one.

Cheers

Hi Brad. Thanks for posting all of the updates. I am using your pictures to help me with my Pace build. They often help me with positioning. Your car has come a long way since we met when I was up at Pace building my roller in September.

Right now mine has engine and transmission fitted, along with fuel tank, rear drive shafts, front lights and various other parts. I am in the process of insulating the interior. Resomat has to be the stickiest substance known to man! Am expecting a delivery of parts this week so I can keep moving the build along. Will keep in touch.

Hi Richard

Welcome to the forum...

By the way there might be something wrong with your PC - the photos of your build are not showing!

Welcome Richard. Everyone loves a new build thread, so it would be great to see you post up some pictures and details of your build.

RGF 02-16-2014 03:46 PM

Hi Tony and Craig,

Thanks for the welcome. I will get some photos up on here just as soon as I have unstuck myself from the insulation and learnt how to post properly.

Richard

Welcome along Richard.

There's lots of interest in the emerging AP cars at the moment so don't be shy! Go to the opening "threads" page, click on the "new thread" button in the top left hand corner, and go for it.

There is plenty of info available about posting photos. Takes a bit of practice initially, but you'll get on top of it in no time. Looking forward to seeing your build progress.

That hinge setup is really nice. Love how it is all tidy and hidden away, not obtruding into the cabin space.

I have to agree Dave. Nice attention to detail with the molded plastic covers too. Should make for a tidy looking interior.

How are you going to finish off the transition between the aluminium chassis and fiberglass body edges?

Charcoal Filter

Well that's about it for today ,I ran the Charcoal Filter lines to the filler tube on the fuel tank and now waiting for the floor panel so I run the breather and Charcoal filter lines through a grommet in the floor panel, then this will be another finished part of the build.

I have to make a 90 degree bracket for a a rock filter (with Don's help) and mount it to the rear chassis of the car.

Seats and runners arrive next week i am told so I can't wait.

Brackets for the dash are coming soon.

Cheers
