Yes what Dean said. There is a gap between the wheel arch and the body, and it just bridges that gap. As you can see I still left a bit of a gap as it wasn't easy to make it flush, but close enough as I covered it with the foam mat anyway.

I plan on sealing that gap with grey silicone (then I'll put the foam on top).

In case anyone's interested.....

That strip is low gauge and is designed to be "formed" into shape...then sealed with silicone...

before the Heavy duty foam layer is affixed, which covers all of this.

Wazza what you guys have done there is very neat and very similar to what I have done on some of my cars in the past. Its a bit of a prick of a job and also hard to spend the time to get looking nice. Your efforts look much better than mine!

Reason I posted is I viewed a product recently that was being used on a chair I have from Switzerland that is exactly the same as what you've used, super dense and adhesive BUT its applied using a heat gun (commercial hairdryer in effect) and it moulds itself to the shape of the thing your applying it to. In my case it was a $10k chair BUT I think it'd be awesome for underbody wheel arches. What's also good is if any of it comes away OR you miss a bit you just reapply the heat gun blower, shape it with your hand and it re-sticks.

It works in a commercial seating application as people aren't going to buy a chair for $10k if it unmolds itself!

I've asked my guys OS if they can source me a few square metres and send it over and I'm going to see how it goes on the Dato. If I get some and it works I'll let you know.

Pffft, who doesn't have a 10k chair. Obviously someone hasn't applied themselves. I supposed you're gonna tell me you don't own a unicorn either. Mine is sitting on my 10k chair as we speak.

U dills. Some of what I do involves dealing with os manufacturing with regards to commercial seating amongst other things from lots of euro countries as well as Asia so I get to see a lot of technology and product that is still 5-10 years away from oz....if it even makes it here.

I don't personally own a 10k chair but I do sit in them fairly often as part of what I do. 750hp the Dato pic likeness is profound. Gold. Cheers fellas.

Geezuz, away for 12 hours and the special rocker chair has gone ( tell me nobody goggled monkey rocker!) and we are back to norm.

Anyway, Guye, great build, more pics and updates... Of anything... It does not matter.

Craig, that dato is gold, up spec with left hand mirror, mismatch wheels, serious rake, high mount rego sticker, rusted lower sills, thin hi-Po wipers, front number plate delete. and rear mud flap addition to protect rear quarter .... That is a yellow bullet nationals contender right there, just add LS?.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch.....

I did it. I made a car! First start, seriously. Can't believe it started first go, once my mate Pete fixed the ECU.
