All I need to fix now is the tacho and speedo. (And the stereo.)

Apart from that, I can't believe I sorted out all the issues in one afternoon.

Oh, except my cheap-arsed review mirror won't stay stuck on! Have to go to Autobarn for that proper glue I suppose.

And now it's off to engineering we go!

Thanks Leroy. Intention was always to post more pics, but sometimes when you're "up to your neck in crocodiles, it's difficult to remember you're meant to be draining the swamp!"

Will post more detailed close ups over the coming weeks as I go through the regos process.

Well done Guy. You must be stoked. Great work. I don't know if I can cope with two Cobras in the work car park. :-) Cheers Gregg

Guye that's been one of my "milestones" in the various build threads -- waiting for your first start-up. It went beautifully.
Congratulations!
Now, good luck with the bureaucrats...

While it sticks to the glass ok, I don't know if it's all the windscreen-mounted mirrors but my mirror jiggles all over the place so badly that it's impossible to see out of when driving. In any event, I have a chrome post mirror from Finishline that I'll be fitting after I paint the car.

Fantastic result on getting the car started Guy! Sounds great!

Ok, engineering tick, except for noise test. The engineers tacho was broken, so I need to go back for that this week.

Hopefully the emissions goes as smoothly. Waiting, waiting....

Oh, and I'm having the devil of a time trying to get my speedo working.

It is electronic. (Speedhut) It only has one wire for the speed.

I do not have a vss output from my ECU. So I am taking the feed directly from my vss sensor on my tremec tr6060 gearbox. I know this works, because it is currently wired into my ECU and my scanner reports the speed ok.

I have tried connecting the speedo wire to both sensor wires in turn, with no result.

I then tapped into the sensor wires directly at the source and ran a second wire just in case I was getting too much loss. I only tapped into what I'm sure in the 'high' wire (white with purple stripe). No luck.

I then also tried to insert a booster voltage from a 12v source through a 4.7kohm resister. Still nothing.

I haven't tried insert the lift voltage into the 'low' wire in case this damages the ECU cause they are connected in parallele after all.

However today I notice that my odb2 scanner has stopped reporting speed now too!

Any (helpful) advice gratefully accepted....

PS: Don't mess with me, I'm close to the edge! So close....

Hey Guy, I saw another thread from Jethro in Perth who has a speed hut gauge and his problems was:

"So a trap for the younger players. Turns out it was always working. Thing is for these gauges (Speedhut) the speedos read zero until you do a calibration. Then they start reading (showing) something.'

Did you do this?

cheers

Gregg

Thanks Gregg,

Yes. I'm not a young player, but thanks for the boost

When calibrating it it waits 5 seconds and says 'No Signal'.

Homemade Andrew.

Wait until I'm sure they work before you ask my advice! But also I'm expecting the dudes that made my exhaust to finish a jig so he can stamp some gaskets customised for the exhaust setup.
