I have seen some posts in the past where people have said they accounted for everything and even listed the components. But they dont seem to have any nuts, bolts or rivets. I was not a handy person so I had to buy a lot of tools.

It all adds up.

If you want a nice looking painted cobra with finished interior but are not concerened about reconditioning the motor/trans/diff and you dont bother with bumpers then I reckon you could build a DRB Cobra (Torana donor) for a little under 40K.
If you want all the shinny bits and new or fully reconditioned parts add 10K.

If you want fully sick motor, drive train and brakes add 20K plus (to the original 40K).

Prices include basic tools.

Those stainless bolts are a killer. And don't even talk about those Grade 8+ Stainless bolts...ouch.

We even accounted for grinding disks, hacksaw blades, drill bits, lube etc. The quotes above do not include tools, which of course are a necessary purchase.

Hey sniper I've bought a partial built cobra and expect a build cost in the low $30K with an assumed saving of approx. $10K on what I've started with.

I will run an AU motor, basic rims and other modest parts but in the end will still have a Cobra. Don't get me wrong I like the clubman idea, s**t loads of power to weight ratio and fun, but the Cobra continues to get the stares after that initial look and it is that 60's classic shape that I like and which drives me to distraction.

Either car should be fun to drive but I suspect neither is easy to sell, so you may as well start with the item you wish to pursue in the long term and take your time perfecting this car to your ultimately desired outcome. Have a look at the electronic car market sales to get an idea of what is out there and the relative prices, I suspect you will be suprised at the limited price differences between the marques.

I am building a G-Force kit myself and am quite happy with the car todate. I can't comment on the RMC kits other than to say that the G-Force is a derivative of the RMC but I'm sure either kit would achieve your desires were you to pursue them!!

I am just finishing my RMC and it has been a great experience. The RMC is easy to build, everything fits and Kym is a great help. My car has taken 3 years and will end up costing around $60K. But I have spent a lot of money on a fancy paintjob and stainless steel sidepies. You probably saw my chassis when you were at RMC. I originally thought that I could build mine for around $45K, then I thought $50K now I realise it will be a lot more, but it is exactly what I want. I have also kept a spreadsheet of every component and I am happy to discuss it with you, if it will help your decision.
