heT side vents wre edesigned tole t hot air out. Over the years, lots of people (including CS) discovered they didn't work very well. Hood vents work a lot better.
Some people have also tried using the side vent as an intake port. That doesn't work well either. It's a small hole. And it's a flat hole. At speed, it becomes a negative pressure area.
If you enlarge the hole and put a scoop or dam behind it, it would work.
