The titling of my SPF is a long and very complicated story (far from your standard run-of-the-mill SB100 process), which I'd rather not repeat here (if we meet face-to-face, then I'll tell ya, or you can search for posts by me, going back a few years). Anyway, my only experience with the Hayward CHP was a phone call, where I explained my complicated title story to the CHP officer, who in turn told me that if I brought my SPF to their office for a VIN verification, then he would impound it. I hung up the phone... Needless to say, I cannot recommend the Hayward CHP for VIN verifications.
I'm sure your experience will be like many 100's of others and be smooth with no hiccups or complications. The DMV, CHP and BAR are pretty well versed on this subject by now.
