Robert,
I don't have a problem with you showing up on Saturday, but I think it's DVs call. Not sure if he's ready to put the body on or not.

Let's see if DV chimes in....

Thanks for the offer!

Double Venom 05-28-2009 05:40 PM

Buddy, you know I'll chime in! Huckelbery, man you don't need permission at any time! Love to have you help set the body in place!

The closer we get. Oh so close!!! :3DSMILE:

Back from another trip to DVs place. We got the body on for the last time. Many thanks to Robert (aka Huckleberry) for making the drive from Plainfield to help getting the body dropped on.

Here's the body still on the buck out in the fresh air and sunshine

Cpteddie!
Say, "Thank you Diane!" I was pulling my hair out trying to get that firewall in place without haveing to buy another porta power to replace mine, she said 'can't you use the holding rod we used to hold the cargo in place in the trailer!' It ratchets, has plenty of lenght and is half as wide as a porta power! PRESTO-five minutes wth this thing and the body dopped with a THUD! Not a crack! :).

Ed it fit so well all the bolts I drilled and tapped to mount the body six months ago (?) all lined up perfectly! Even the back deck after I moved the rear wall back.

I'll post more pictures later, but even the header cut outs line up!!

The real boss, she should have been an engineer!

capteddie 06-01-2009 02:35 PM

Well I'm glad you finally got the brains of the operation involved  ;)

Thanks Diane!!!!

Can't wait to see some pictures of how its sitting now! :3DSMILE: !

Double Venom 06-02-2009 09:54 AM

Ok,
This is how we put Diane's solution to work-what is shown is the rear or the
'pole' against the rear inner firewall-the front is up against the top of the firewall,

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...s_Miracle_.JPG

Firewall pushed forward so body dropped down-rear firewall now fitting exactly where it is supposed to be!

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/data/500/50.JPG

Rear of the body in place,
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...and_bolted.JPG

Front of the body in place,
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...ing_r-side.JPG

How about that....after the long freeze the body is totally down and bolted in place!
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d..._bolted_dn.JPG

Lot of 'stuff' to go but it is all down hill from here!

Does your hood close or rub underneath? I have the same oval air cleaner and had to modify it. Turned out excellent !!

Oh boy!!! Yes we (DV) had to do some modification.

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/data/500/0121.JPG

But the hood does close and there is no rubbing.
