General FYI

I haven't seen DV online in a couple days and got a little concerned. Just got off the phone with him and everything is alright. His internet connection is down :(

He said if anybody has been trying to get ahold of him, call his house or cell. If you need the number, PM me...

onetrackrider 07-01-2009 02:57 PM

Ya... got it. Sorry for the delay. Got back from DVs yesterday and had guys here ripping up my driveway to lay a new one down.

Can you post a list of what items you are looking for and I'll see if I have anything. Or I can at least tell you where I sourced my parts from.

Any word from Bakker on when they'd be ready to do the carpet? Do I need to call Kris? I'm standing at the ready to come over and trailer the car down to Muskegon :3DSMILE:

As usual....he hasn't called me! :( I'll get him today!
DV
PS Lost a day and a half on the door openers! Unfortunately they will not work the way you, me or any female would want. Waaayyy to much pressure needed to open them! I can pull the cable with one finger and thumb, but add the prety button and it is a nightmare to open. Getting new handles today from our Buddy-made a "Corporate" decision on the new handles!

What are the new handles going to be, the same or new ones. Thanks Dave

No problems from me on "corporate decisions" whatever works best and doesn't take a year in custom fabrication  :3DSMILE:

"from our buddy" John??? %/ Kris??? %/ Mr. Walmart??? %/

Chad,
Funny part is after all the derogatory remarks about those bycycle cables (stainless steel) the exspensive "Watkins" handles used the same cables! I picked up some "real" handles at our auto parts store and will make them work. I think you are going to like them.
By the way did you call Chris (Bakker) at the upholsterers? He called me and thinks Tuesday will be good. I have to call him Monday for a confirmnation.
DV

I'll take some pictures putting them in :) :)

I didn't call Chris and its good that I didn't have to. I'm available every day but Monday to make the trip over to get the car to his place... Just give me the word :3DSMILE:

James Stern 07-04-2009 08:11 PM

C'mon guys some pics puleese.

Double Venom 07-04-2009 08:21 PM

Jim, nothing new for pics yet, fired up cpteddies today-first time in months, with his new start system and with the sidepipes on--- darnnnnnn-golly-geeeeeeeeeee!

Going for Carpet Tues or Weds. New handles for the doors in by Tuesday-I hope- will have pictures of those. Other than that, it is searching for bugs and doing final wiring connections; two start computers-one small tranny computer, three fuse boxes, etc.,etc., lighting systems-all the final stuff!
DV
PS Also found a small gas leak on one of the fittings tonight! 'SMALL' - is that like a little pregnant!?

James Stern 07-05-2009 03:57 AM

DV, Thanks for the reply when you seem to be busiest. "Small gas leak=kinda pregnant?" Only if the car catches on fire:CRY:. You caught if before anything happened so that's what matters. All of us who are sharing this build vicareously (sp?) will just have to wait for the pics. Hope you had a great 4th and got out of the garage long enough to see some fireworks.

Jim

Not much to look at, but this is cpteddies rear mounts for his seats. The angle I welded in is so his seat fits flush to the floor in front and the rear part of the seat is now flush.

Work

Hey DV,

Had some emergencies crop up at work this week. People out sick and network issues. All of that is keeping me busy this week and it doesn't look like I'm going to make it over to your place.

If the car is ready to go to Bakker's. Feel free to hook up the trailer and run it down there. As I said earlier. This weekend is already booked with the wife and I going to Chicagoland Speedway and I'm out of town next weekend.

Let me know what you think.

James Stern 07-07-2009 06:40 AM

DV, I'm glad that you were able to take the time to see that. The Boston show is the best of them. (Sorry NYC and Wash.) There is so much energy and unabashed patriotism that it is just a fun thing to see. Sorry to see Capteddie get buried in work at this time. Capteddie, the one line never heard in heaven is; "Gee, I wish I had spent more time at the office."
Anyway keep on keepin on and thanks for the pics DV.

Jim

A little progress-toward the end!

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...runk_final.JPG

87 individual rear wires, two computers, a "frontal" fuse box moved to the rear- all wiring run through the frame or tunnel. I'll post a picture of a cover when it's done that covers up the right side, exposing the fuse box, but covering up the battery section. Through the cover will be 'remote' battery hook ups in case.............

OK!!!! Whats all this stuff about something electrical arcing  and melting the back half of the car?

See... Thats what happens when my wife reads a PM and relays the info to me with her own little spin on it  :3DSMILE:

Glad to hear that everything is back working!!! Didn't get home from Chicagoland Speedway till a little after 1am :JEKYLHYDE Even though my guy (cousin Carl Edwards) didn't fare so well, it was nice to see a guy 50 years young run one hell of a race to take the checkered flag. Way to go Mark Martin!!!

I'll overnight the stamps to you tomorrow and you'll have them Tuesday.

I kinda don't want to ask... %/ but whats the white spot in the last picture on the right side, by the bumper tube holes? %/

Your paint is so shinny that it is just a reflection.
