Today I installed a rear brake cooling system. Although not original and really not needed, it still looks pretty cool. First I custom made brackets to mount to the rear uprights and installed 3" flanged bases from Aircraft Spruce. Next, I fabricated a mounting bracket for the inlet and then riveted the same style 3" flanged duct mounts to the housing. The housing is mounted to the frame underneath the pumpkin.

The inlet doesn't hang below the undercar exhaust so I should be ok.

I then installed the 3" ducting then installed a wheel to verify clearance. Perfect. No interference.

Bill, great stuff. I've got a pile of "original style" wiring that I got from Kirkham years ago. If you have a schematic you're working from I'd love to put it in my stack of stuff.

No schematic. I'm using a painless wiring system. The firewall components are repops but non functional

There are only 3 justifiable reasons for doing anything...:

1) It's needed in a functional sense
2) It's a value-adder

or

3) It's going to look really cool.

And who says it's not needed? Someday that car might be out blasting around Willow Springs in the middle of June- When it's 105 out, that track gets HOT....

I found these slick little fresh air vent bezels for a 1950-1951 Ford wagon. Using them with my fresh air vent cables.

You don't need cooling on rear brakes..... Just Front Brakes

And your air is just going blow on the surface of one side of the rotor instead of coming in the center and having a backing plate to prevent the air from escaping and then going out the vents in the rotor.... so now you are cooling one side of the rotor and not the other and it will get stress cracks....

Just saying you might want to rethink that idea....

Well thought out. It might be more of a concern for a jag rear end with inboard brakes on hard high speed braking than on out board brakes, especially under normal braking. However, you do make a good point that if a person were to do provide for venting to rear brakes, that it should be centered on the rotor to ensure equal cooling.

The air is directed towards the center. They're vented rotors. Half of the flange is blocked off somthe air only goes to the center. But I understand Morris' concerns

Next I fabricated a mounting bracket for the activation cable from some 1.5 x 1.5 x .125 aluminum angle and attached it to the bottom of the dash
