yea, that a rule of thumb with any hobby. NEVER add the total costs, just look at each individual purchase and the emotion attached to it.

Neither, that's a dropped 289 dash with a clock in the middle.

You can put it anywhere you want. I have it between the two seats because it makes a wonderful arm rest. I mean it -- it really is a comfortable place to rest your elbow along with your hand on the shifter.

Armrests Patrick? No cup holders? Please just tell me you don't have a CD player in that glovebox!

Is the AC horn button or the Cobra button more correct?

I personally, like the Cobra button.

Seriously though, Patrick is right. They can go anywhere. Some folks use either method and also some mount it on the rear bulkhead right between the seats. Wherever you feel comfortable about being able to get to it should the need arise..

Well, since you asked, inside my glovebox, all the way in the back, is an adjustable rev limiter. Along the right side, is an Emergency Flasher switch from the old Mustangs.

where are my manors.

Merry Christmas to you all!

My wife keeps asking, what are you doing on the computer? I keep saying "nothing", to which she replies, you're looking at Cobra stuff aren't you.

She's almost fully in, this morning we were watching a re-run of the Mecam auction, when she seen a Cobra replica come across the block, she says, "there is your car"

I then began to point out all the things wrong with it, chrome wheels, wrong steering wheel, roll bar is incorrect, etc....

The Wallace household is in full cobra mode!

Merry Christmas!

I wrote him a fat check and he signed it exactly the way I asked him to -- making it clear that the car was an ERA, not a CSX.

EDIT -- The check was actually to his charity, which was for children with heart problems, IIRC.

I mounted my extinguisher on the bulkhead. Found these stainless steel spring clamps and liked the way they looked so modified the bracket to use them. Also, notice it is a Cold Fire extinguisher. You should read up on that when you get a chance.

And, Merry Christmas to everyone!

That's a personal choice. Only the old original AC cars had that center badge along with AC on the pedals, but both are available. Also fyi, it's not a horn button, just a center badge. The horn button is actually on the dash, just to the right of the steering column.

Look awesome, ads an air of authenticity.

Guaranteed that you'll hit that center badge with your palm when attempting to hit the horn. A button on the dash will take a lot of getting used to and most would agree is close to worthless in a panic situation.

That said, I upgraded my horns. The horns that come with the ERA are from a VW, I believe. Regardless, the first time I hooked up the battery and tested the horn, my wife opened the door to the garage and said "THAT'S the horn?". Replaced them with a pair of highway blasters. You can't go rumbling up in a Cobra and go "toot, toot".

Last question then i have to do pre-Christmas stuff:

I hear differing opinions of the placement of the battery. Traditionally it seems to be a front mount. But, some have moved it to the trunk? From my preliminary research, the trunk seems more practical?

What are the pros and cons?
