Spats
I have a Unique 427 body and would like to get a set of spats (rock guards for the rear fenders) to save the paint. Does anyone make them, or have a set that I could make a template off of? If there is enough demand, I would be happy to make additional sets for other cobra owners.

3M clearbra, pretty straight forward.

ERA has them for $250, but I am not certain that they would fit your car.
They use one snap on each side which already exist on an ERA, and then you install a Velcro strip inside the fender lip, and one snap under the car.
I just painted my car, and bought and installed them.
It works great.
Maybe; if you contact ERA they may know if they will fit your car or not.

Plasti-dip
I was hoping to get 3M clear bra on the front of my rear fenders but it did not work out. I was concerned about driving around unprotected.
I read about Plasti dip and decided to give it a try. Plasti dip is a temporary plastic coating that feels sort of like undercoating. It had thickness and does protect. My car is black and gray so I went with black. Putting it on could not be easier. You do have to do wet coats and pull the tape while it is wet. I masked it off and used the last tape line as the edge so I did not have to re-mask. I only had 1" tape so I could not get a graceful curve and I will likely do it differently next time. For $7 a can you can't go wrong and if you do peel it off and try again.
It has done its job so far, is showing no signs of peeling. I did get some 1/2" masking tape and will mask it differently next time.
Here is a photo from my phone, I did not intend to share it so excuse the quality.

I am going to use Plasti Dip as well. I am going over the car little by little this summer and the spats will be the last thing I do.
Your car looks great, I like the color combo.

How was the coverage....

No
I have not. When you say road rash you mean scrapes or stone chips.
You have to put on at least three coats so I think stone chips would lesson with every coat. Road Rash would be different, depends on how deep. I am not sure it would peel easily with scrapes either. What nice is it is $7 a can. If you try it and don't like it you just peel it off.

Can't imagine why the clearbra won't work, any experienced application guy can use it from a bulk piece with a simple pattern.
The 2nd choice would be the newer spray application product which is a straight forward DIY deal and you can multi coat it for the protection level you're comfortable with and removable if you screw it up.
The stuff you used " may" use a solvent that can attack the clear, repeat, " may".

Used to make clear bras for a business.
If you are willing to drive to Tyrone GA, you can have the 3M spats applied for free. Well, not really free. You have to let me check out the ride.
Be careful about having them applied just anywhere. Most will cut them on the car. Here, we will digitize them and cut them on the plotter.

You may want to rethink that
What you are describing sounds like an old front end bra. Something has to be in contact with the paint. Grit will get in there and rub/damage the paint over time.

Here are my carbon fiber ones. They were made by FFR. With a very small amount of modification they fit my Lonestar very well.
