Default Go figure!

I read an article in an automotive magazine some years back about the benefit of a "valley tray" under the intake manifold.

THEY were debating it's value as well. There were surprised to see it actually made a measurable difference in HORSE POWER on the dyno. I don't recall the reasons for this, but it sure stuck in my mind! It's just not something I would have thought would impact horse power of all things!!!

Gotta be something to do with temperature of the manifold I guess.

Hum....that's interesting. It's the only thing it could be.
Thanks,

Hey CL, I know....people must just get excitied about WINNING a bid & pay over the amount it's worth. By bro-in-law had two, AC compressors for his 68' GT Mustang, bought both at a auction for $150, he sold one on ebay for $425 !!!!! incredable huh ! I searched all over the country for this valley pan. Prices ranged from $20-$80.....some of the higher priced ones that had creaces, dents, rust ect.... went from around $30-$50. I bought mine for $20 that had been blasted clean & it's almost perfect. Maybe people have more money that I do ????

By the way, I did buy a "more capacity" Canton pan. It looks great, it's a low profile with the extra oil extended from the sides rather than the bottom, it also has a bung for a temp gauge. The only thing I wish it had like the its bigger brother is a dipstick tube bung. I'll either use the stock block location or weld a bung in the pan. It does look like a great pan though.

Just another example, there was a chrome dipstick tube on ebay & it sold for $37 & it was used with scratches from removing it from the motor. Tony Branda has brand new ones for $29.95.
