Well, someone could fire up a couple of new threads, stoke a few fires and try to bait Evan out of his REAL chapel.
Those are usually good for a few yuks until the mods get tired of it.

I would define "fun" as the attributes that distinguish my posts from those of ERAChas and that thereby afford a lighthearted, humorous atmosphere while still providing an acceptable level of Cobra related information.

I'm still trying to get my head around how many people in our world are fanatics about both Saabs and Cobras and/or Corvettes. That's got to be a relatively small group.

And if you can't laugh at that Kackel Dackel video, then I just don't know what to say.

You had to qualify or quantify it by saying "acceptable level of Cobra related information." I would have just left it at "level of Cobra related information."

I never made that connection. I did however, have a 96 900 and a 98 9000. Trivia question... Can anyone tell me what was special about the 98 9000?

It was the one Kramer overheated on Seinfeld??

It was the last one ever before being swallowed and regurgitated by American car companies?? Hopefully??

Saabs have ceased to have automotive relevance since Erik Carlsson threw away his leather helmet. Hope Henrik and his buds are asleep over there by now...

Wanna know what's wrong with this forum lately? The rediculous banter between Patrick and Rodknock. On every thread. Just too much BS.

It's true that most threads, even the good ones, get highjacked by a few high posters. You know who you are. Maybe more PMs to each other or starting another thread,"let's bash each other", would help. Either way, I have been spending more time on other forums that are less childish. In my opinion, this is why people are jumping ship. The numbers speak for themselves. I would like to hear Brent's opinion.

I would too. What numbers are you referring to? This may be 'all-time' or 'since inception' but this is what it says at the bottom of the 'Forums' page: Members: 32,313

The original question was BS.

The answer is: it may indeed be you.

A survey of the last 300 or so new threads show a myriad of topics of general and/or technical interest, regional club activity, event notices, some friendly and some not-so-friendly talk...which is what the Forum is all about...and has been all about.

Not everything to be discussed needs to be nuts, bolts and lockwashers.....; this community has some depth, as well as length and width.

Perhaps you are right....your tastes may have drifted off the mainstream.
So, maybe....another forum might be to your liking.

As far as sidetrips forced by a few "active" posters...if you don't like a post, don't read it. If you think a sidetrip is ruining a thread...say so in a post. If a thread has turned to sh!t because of it, report it to a moderator.

We leave some threads in All Cobra Talk that should be in the Lounge; we do that to have a little fun sometimes.

This thread is not much fun; so it goes to the Lounge.

If you feel the boards need some more zip, then start some threads that interest you. But don't talk this place down while you promote your own site in your sig line.

Thanks
ron

Default Let's meet!

I for one want to see what happens when PatrickT, Rodknock, and ERAChas finally meet in the back of some eatery or better yet some famous bar to discuss various things! Actually, I would like to see the meeting in Phoenix of all places! Who's with me??? It goes without saying you HAVE to drive your Cobra there! 209

It might be like the "Rough Riders Ride Again".For you kids out there, the Rough Riders were old cowboy movies from the 30's & 40's.

The plot was usually some a bad guys stealin cows somewhere in Texas. Next, a poor rancher that was getting his cows ripped off and called for his friends..The Rough Riders.
The Rough Riders would meet up and proceed to help out the poor rancher and put the bad guys in jail.

Picture this....Patrickt, Rodknock and ERAChas, meet up and go after all the bad guys, Hmm...Pheonix sounds like a good place to look.
HARRRR!

I'm with you N2VENOM. It seems that the true life of a good thread is usually 1-2 pages. Any longer and it either gets hijacked or the personal dueling begins. After I bought my Miata new in '95 I started being active in the Miata Club of America forum that seemed to be helpful. But as the years went on it became more amd more juvenile to the point that it seemed anyone over 40 years old was just too "straight" to expect honest, clear and productive replies to questions or additive comments. If people want to talk about Subarus go to the Subaru forum. If ya want to talk Corvette, go to a Vette forum. And lastly, if ya wanna talk guns - buy and sell - go to a Guns and Ammo web site... not Club Cobra.
