It seems like Canada could 'tweak' their current system as we should 'tweak' our current system without adopting something close to Canada's.

Both systems could use a strict ID system with medical records automated and accessible through the ID - illegals would have to go away. Also, a co-pay after, say 3 doctor visits a year seems like a good thing to consider.
