Was anyone else bothered by the length of the applause before the speech? I understand showing support (or sucking up) but it continued for a rediculously long time, seemingly to the point of annoyance to the President. And Pelosi just stood in the back with that silly a$$ grin, clapping with the rest of them. Even when she picked up the gavel, she failed to take control of the position. Standing there tapping with it while keeping the silly grin on her face. Poor showing of authority.
I did not think this was the proper way to show respect to the position of President. This should have been done with dignity and pride....not as the opening of the "Tonight Show".
