I would say that this sounds like an incorrect size master cylinder.Like Madmax says brakes and the braking system is NOT Rocket science. Many older cars never had boosters and yet could stop perfectly well,albeit with a little more pedal pressure.Also how are the brake lines run? How are they split from the master ,front and rear?
