Default Weber said "Good Luck Stopping Popping!!!!

I installed a set of 44 IDF weber carbs on my 347 Stroker. Syncronized carbs but cant seem to stop popping from sidepipes. I spoke to Weber and the man said "GOOD LUCK trying to stop that. Is popping common when using webers. The engine has not been dynoed and perhaps popping could be minimized. Those of you who know webers, what do you think!

Popping when letting off gas is very common. Popping while accelerating isn't good.

I've tinkered enough to tell you that I don't know how the heck to make it stop popping on deceleration.

from my limited experience i understand the popping on decelleration to be fuel dumping into the exhaust then igniting when o2 from an exhaust leak is intermixed, how the stuff ignites i have no idea.

When do you experience the popping? Part throttle? Cruise? Deceleration? Full throttle?

As above, when does it happen, what rpm at what throttle?

What's the settings of the carbs:

Venturi, emulsion tube, main, air, idle, pump jet, pump bleed, float level?

You really need a wideband O2 data logger to note the A/F ratio at the time of popping.

Please post the air corrector, and jet sizes (idle & Main) as well as venturi size & emulsion tube # you are currently using.
We need that info before we can point you in the right direction.
