Ok...here are some details of the 427S/C dash layout.

This configuration is very likely the way that the cars left SAI.
I say that because of two things:
  • These were racecars, and as such, they were frequently modified by the owners
  • A lot of these cars (S/Cs) have been "restored" and "restored"...again and again...over the years. Certain guys in that game have certain opinions about things.

First, the left side of the panel:

Now, the center was designed for a race car...giving the 3 vital signs of health: oil pressure, water temp and revs.

Finally, the right side (center of the car)...there was nothing further right of this cluster on the S/C dash.

On some restored cars, you will see the 3 small gauges in a different order.

On many cars, you might find an additional toggle switch, usually over the Dash dimmer rheostat, or to the right of the ignition switch, to control the cooling fans. I believe these were added after the fact.
The original layout did not have a fan switch, but rather, used a temp sensor for that.

This is what I believe to be the accurate detail.... as always, I am open to any new facts.
