Craig did a test fit of the FIA wheels and I am really excited at how awesome the car looks (I'm biased of course). Exactly the look I was going for...

Sweet! It's coming together nicely. Tell us about your custom built carb.

As much as I would have liked to use a "correct" carb, with 482 cubic inches, I needed something that looked period correct while having enough CFM to keep the engine going. I sent a Holley 4150 to Joe Bunetic along with 2 Lemans float bowls. Joe added and adjusted the bowls, machined off the air horns, installed .128 needle valves with steel tips and when everything was done, had the carb properly replated. The choke was also removed. This is the carb that Barry Rabotnick used to dyno my engine: Video: Survival Motorsports And 482 Cubic Inches Of FE Fury - EngineLabs

The HP & Torque numbers are higher now that we have improved fuel flow to the carb / engine.

Forgot to mention that the 4150 is 850CFM.

This car is really starting to take shape, the fia type wheels look right at home on this one. Great choice imo!

Front inner panels made up and test fitted, flange for the footbox vent installed.

Here we have replaced the inner bushings on the front lower control arms.
Everything is nice and straight now and should work just fine.
Ready to be all dolled up with new powder coating.

Glad you like it Jeff!!!

Craig has removed all of the goodies from the car as it will be heading to the painter over the next few weeks. He put the car on the rotisserie and is finishing up all of the detail work on the bottom side. Exciting times...

Craig still needs to add the handles to the hood, fit the comp screen and tonneau cover and then it should be ready for paint!!

I've been following this thread and I can't wait to see the finished product. You're to be congratulated for following through on this project.

Thanks Tim - I appreciate the encouraging words. If I hadn't connected with Craig, I very much doubt I would have followed through with this project. He is a very talented fabricator and so much more. My standards are very high and he has not disappointed. When all is said and done, I think this is going to be one heck of a car. I can't wait to see the finished product either

I would hope you have fuel bowl "whistles" fitted.
Those bowl vent tubes are bit short for my liking.
What depth air filter are you using?
Vent tubes can run at near 3/4 inch to the air filter lid.

The car is a work of art.

Hi Gary,

No one else has mentioned this as a concern but I will definitely look into it. I am planning on running a Stelling & Helling air filter. As tall as I can fit with a K&N element.

Thanks - Kevin
