I'll put the word out around here Carl.
See ya, Randy |
Hey guys, I was looking thru my new Ford performance catalog today and found out that I have 3 yokes already, the C-4/Aod and the T-5 use the same yoke. Thanks for your help Carl.
|
Carl, you wouldn't have one for a C-6 that will also fit my t-3650 I was looking though the same book. Otherwise its time to go junkyarding.
Patrick |
Patrick, I will check the stuff today and PM you what I find, Carl.
|
Well yesterday I finished the disassembly so I can get the finish welding done, lots of things going on so work has been slow, still picking up parts as I find them and can afford them, this is a pay-as-you-go project, just like most any other hot rod build. Got the engine mostly buttoned up, still looking for a passenger side header to use as a pattern if it's too bad to use, have two for the driver side, a 302 & a 351 FFR style. More later, Carl

Well got all the welding done unless I haveto add something else, engine, trans, and suspension are mounted. The trans mount needed modifying but thats no biggy. More pics in my gallery. Carl. |
Hey Carl, make sure you take lots of notes and prepare final drawings when you are done. Looks like the boys in THIS THREAD will be needing a frame and chassis design for their project.:D:D
Excellent work! Jim |
Thanks Jim, I'm updating my prints as I make changes and if anyone has a need when it's done I will make everything available. Right now I'm working on the cowl hoop, after I got the dimensions from you I found I was about 3 in too far back and too wide at the top. The outriggers are perfect so tomorrow the work continues.
|
Wow, looking good Carl! Man, you do good work.
How's everybody doing up there in the snow? Tell your wife & brother the gang from IHOP says "Howdy!" See ya, Randy |
Thanks Randy, the snow is slowly fadeing away ,we're supposed to be in the mid 40's this week and next, right now it's 8. Tell the guys at Ihop we are hoping to be down this summer, the house project is about done then I start packing some of the shop stuff up.
|
I just posted some more pictures in my gallery, the dash hoop and steering is starting to shape up. Got the clutch slave cylinder mounted, will be starting on the pedal support this week. More to come. Carlhttp://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...a_Build_84.jpg
|
Just a short update, Got my gauges,(used VDO),quick jacks, all three master cylinders, the new dash is out to the plasma cutter to get the holes cut in per my deminsions, looking into building my own pedal support. More later, Carl
|
Glad to hear work is still progressing Carl! I was waiting for another update, been a little while since your last one.
Randy |
Hi Randy, I've been gathering parts, got the side pipes comming, now I MUST put the cash aside for the body. The move is progressing slowly, my sister is still trying to sell their place so they can buy ours. Also working on the 49 Ford pick up for the wife. Carl

Glad to hear that the move is progressing even if it is slowly, thats better than no movement at all!;) Post a picture of that 49, would like to see it. Randy |
Another update, just posted 6 more pictures in the gallery, the remote filter is mounted and I used hydraulic hose instead of neoprene because if I ever blow a fan belt I won't lose the engine oil as well.http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d..._Build_090.jpg
|
|
Hi Carl, Those 90° fittings for the remote filter are NOT a good idea, use radius or sweep bends/fittings where ever possible. Also have a good look at the hyd fittings & hose to ensure they are no smaller in the I.D. than the gallery dia of the cyl block ( Somewhere between 7/16"-1/2"). Its hard enough on the pump to get the lube around without us guys adding to the load. Great work, your making a lot more progress than me!!:)
|
Another update, now have my pedal assembly(wilwood), unisteer rack, and sidepipes, and am making up cardboard templates for the trans tunnel, and footbox areas. I am thinking of putting a lifting system under the pass seat so the wife can get in and out easier.http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d..._Build_095.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d..._Build_094.jpg
|
Another update, steering is in, will have to fine tune it when body and seating is finished. Pedal assembly is in, master cylinders are mounted, next comes the plumbing of the front and finding the rear disc kit, I am leaning toward the one from Speedway Motors for $429, that looks pretty good.
pics will follow as soon as I get them into the gallery. Carl |
