There are very few people on the Forum that have had experience with IDFs, as most prefer the more original IDA. You are correct on the 3/4 to 1 turn theory.
Aggie is correct, in that you need to baseline everything and proceed accordingly. None of these systems work the same. I am not sure what you are referring to regarding a choke (enrichment) system on the IDF. I have never seen one and have owned a couple of units.
