Need Opinions (and specs)
I have a friend who works at a NAPA warehouse around here who is able to get me half price on any crated engine that they sell. After looking on the NAPA website and selecting a few different engines for my kit, I decided that I wanted to go with either the '69 Ford 5.0L 302 CID V8 .... OR .... the '70 Ford 5.8L 351 CID V8.
The specs I could find online said that the 302 pushes 400 horsies at 6,500 rpm and that the 351 gets 290 with the 4 barrel carb. Does anyone know if these are accurate specs and more so, what would everyone suggest as far as one of these engines goes? I can get the 302 in a crate delivered to my doorstep for around $500 and the 351 for around $600. Eventually, I plan to do some major modifications to the engine, i.e. bore it out and add performance parts. Is one of these engines better to modify than the other? Just looking for some advice, thanks!
