"Many items we now purchase are more expensive now than they were previous when manufactured local because now a foreign company controls production and they have no competition."

Imagine that! The only difference now is that we gave them the machines and technology to take our money to their house.

By the way Eric, Dean Lampe has his Dynatek system being dyno'd and tuned tomorrow in St. Louis, Mo. The Dynotek guys build a beautiful product and Dean claims they are great to work with. I would love to put a Dynotek FI system on my FE 427.

Dean was a devoted Weber fan. What happened? Having Dean giving a tacit endorsement to the Dynatek system certainly provides some level of comfort to me if and when I decide to go with FI down the road.

Eric,

I have also been fascinated by the Dynatek system, and had started a brief dialog with the Dynatek Racing folks, but have not made the plunge yet since they said they are still "tuning" things up for the FE (see Sept 2008 Kitcar Magazine article....thanks Rodknock!!).

As I understand it, their FE intake manifold, eight injectors (four housings), linkage, ECU and wiring is around $6500, plus high pressure fuel pump, return lines, set up on a dyno which are extras.

Please post photos and keep us updated on your build. I think my KC FE may be close to what you're having built so it may be able to use the same set up. BTW, is Keith buying the unit for you? You're going to be happy with KCR.

Thanks for the kind words!

Yes, Keith is buying the DynaTek system for my engine, and it will be dyno'd at his shop in Hollywood AR (just outside Arkadelphia).

Michael Turner at KCR in Plano is doing the install into the SPF roller, and yes, he is installing a return line, and a gas tank vent. he is using the Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump, and a two stage filter system. Once installed, it will be dyno'd and tuned again.

I like KCR already, Shelly told me I drive "A Man's Truck". Any guy likes to hear that! (It's a 2005 F-250 PS crew cab)

I will post pics as I get them!

10-4 Eric. You will have no problem breaking 600 hp with that build from KCR. Mine dynoed at 640 hp with a DaVinci 950, and from what I read, the Dynatek is capable of flowing a lot more than that. Can't wait to see the eye candy!!!

Is that on an optimistic or conservative dyno ?

More history that anything else. The standard 482 (if you want to call it a crate motor) crate motor from Keith dynos out at 580 hp and 600ft/lbs.
http://www.keithcraft.com/engines/48...te_Engine.html

In MM&FF the Classic Injection provided 35ft/lbs and like 20 more hp than a Vic Jr intake (the intake was ported) and a 750 Holley on a 408 motor.

My last motor was a 418 with what turned out to be 11:1 compression, making 550 hp and tq. I don't know why this motor can not break 600.

Robert Roschen has a KCR 496 that I am (for the most part) modeling my build from, and his makes 688 hp, and 670 tq. Robert has the dual quad setup with Davinci carbs.

I'll be happy north of 600

Thanks!

The guys and Gals in SCOF are great people. I sold a car and lost a bunch of freinds. I have wanted to get back (long story) since the day I sold 1380.

Eric- Sounds like it's going to be a hell of an engine. You will have to let us know how it runs once you get behind the wheel.

It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on any differences between your last SPF and the new one. My car is about the same age as your last SPF. I'm curious about the new DANA rear.............and make sure the brakes work in the new car before going too fast!

Can't go wrong with Blue and White stripes, my man!

-Best of luck with the build!

Thanks Terry!
Yeah, the 3:46 rear I am not sure how I am going to hook-up. I've been told that 1st is more "useful" but I am guessing a set of 3:73's are in the future.

I am really excited to see how much these DynaTeks's can flow, but top HP or tq is not the goal. +600 hp, and the classic looks with EFI (no hassle), that's my goal.

I will be posting videos, no question.

Not sure you're going to want a 3.73 rearend with that engine and the TKO 600 (unless you are going to be pulling stumps).

You might want to try the 3.46 gear first.

I am going to try it first, I just wonder how it is going to hook-up

It may have changed by now, but I know when they first started using the BTR center gear sets were hard to find, and only available in a handful of ratios. I know there was talk at one point about it being essentially the same unit as a Pontiac GTO so their gear sets might fit? I never heard one way or the other if that was correct or not.

I find I'm happy with the 3.46 and the TKO600 and .82 OD. First gear is up in smoke before you say boo on my Roush427R motor, your FE should be more than enough for your tires

I do wish I had a little more OD as I find I cruise 65-70MPH at 2800 or so. using 295/50-15s by the way. Most of the calculators say I should be turning fewer RPMs but I've checked the speed with GPS and a chase car and it all seems to check out.
