This event seems to be going in two directions - one where we try and make it bigger and better than previous years, with articles and pictures and extra days and people from out of state. And the one where it's a "regional" event where the locals plan the event and whoever shows up that's fabulous but are just supposed to sit back and enjoy what they come up with.
I mean, I can probably make it to events all over the state because I'm blessed with the flexibility in my job to do so. But I can bet that I'll be at some of those events alone because Alan's job isn't near that easy to schedule around.
I've always been fine doing the registration and the nametags because someone needed to do it after we lost Dick. But I was always under the impression that this was a Texas event so if I'd known it was another region's event, I'd have not pushed my way in.
