B2 Motorsports - Gary Bowman 445 SBF Build
Well, it's Gary's turn for a Club Cobra engine build page.
He's currently running an all-aluminum 427W from Ford Racing, with about 575hp. Putting that much horsepower through a 2400 lb car is just not enough for Gary....he wants more.

Gary's build is going to consist of a Dart blocked Windsor, with a Callies Dragonslayer crank and a set of their H-beam rods. We're planning to go with CHI 3V 225cc heads on the top, along with one of their 3V 4150 style intake manifolds. Operating the valves will be a custom Comp Cams solid roller pushing on Isky Red Zone lifters.

This is gonna be a bad mama-jama. I've never spelled mama-jama before, so if I spelled it wrong, please someone correct me.
As parts and details trickle in, I will post info and pictures. As always, I don't like cookie-cutter builds and this one is gonna be a nice one.

Stay tuned... |

Looking forward to it Brent...I suspect that I will need to act LESS excited looking at the pictures of the build than I did of my kids ultrasounds, Otherwise the boss may cut me off No worries, I'll keep a straight face!

A 108 solid roller between .680" and .710". T&D or Jesel valve train. Throw out that intake and get a 4500-a 1080 will work. 13:1 and if you don't make 715 or 718 you're a mary....

Aluminum or cast iron block? Any other trick bottom end goodies? Distributor or crank trigger? I enjoy watching these builds. Details are appreciated here.

 Brent,
I remember Gary's thread about wanting a much faster setup. How much more power do you expect this setup to make? Are you thinking of doing any forced induction or nitrous to really move the needle?

I could make 800 if he'd let me.....
But...

He wants something that will be half-way streetable, run on 92-93 octane, and doesn't require a ton of maintenance. We talked about a big block, but having to change motor mounts, bellhousings, flywheels, etc. just didn't really make sense.

This should be a 650hp engine and if he wants more, he'll have to let me spin it up a little higher.
I can't give away all the secrets, but the block is a Dart SHP block, no crank triggers or vacuum pumps needed.... Last edited by blykins; 01-30-2013 at 02:59 AM..

 Absolutely.
On the "low maintenance side" it would take a blower or turbo. On the "high maintenance" side, it would take some compression and some cam.

Gary and I are doing a little reconsidering...
His hood clearance is lacking at this point and with the CHI 3V 9.500" intake sitting up at 7.500" tall, we may have to look at a different top end. BDR says that they can fit a Windsor head with a Super Victor intake, so Gary and I are looking at some TFS TW-R heads or some High Ports.

We discussed it. He wants to keep a complete engine for another project. |

Unless someone wants a nice deal on an almost new (750 miles) Ford Racing 575 HP all alum Hydro roller with 11 months of warranty left Drop it in and go!!! Chances are it will sit around for a long time before I start the next project so I wouldn't mind selling it.
