David,
Probably in the neighborhood of $3,200 - $3,500 but don't quote me. I have yet to get the price from Halibrand. Richard is working on the details as we speak.

Thanks for the pricing info. I'll probably get on the wagon.......if the pricing doesn't get out of reach.
As far as wheel maintenance on these, I owned a 1960 Triumph TR3 with magnesium wheels and knock-offs. I've been there and done it before.:D

The gold hue of the centers probably wouldn't look right with his beige/titanium paint anyway.

Rodney, this is great of you to make the effort to organize a group buy. I did this once on another forum and was amazed how many people got involved when "opportunity meets price." Or, more so with this case, "Availability meets opportunity."
Having said that, I will humbly have to decline though. A quick acceleration to 3.92% would also require professional counsel for how best to manage divorce proceedings.

Well there's your problem. That 'wife' thing. She's slowing you down 3.92%.
Thanks for the kind words.

So Fran has the OEM as a competitor for his new wheel venture. Or is Fran Richard's customer too?

Fran is a competitor to Halibrand and could not have the name Halibrand embossed anywhere on his production run of wheels. Both are made by M&A castings as you probably know.
I suspect that some people don't want to be "out-ed" in public, so they're contacting Richard privately. I don't care, just want the wheels made.

Of course Halibrand owns their tools.
It's no secret that M&A casts Halibrand's wheels.
Pretty sure Fran uses M&A too. If not, someone inform us.
Did Fran invest in his own tool? That's the $64,000 question.
When I said people were contacting Richard, I meant interested parties. Not anything peculiar.

I wasn't insinuating anything peculiar.
Yes, Fran uses M&A too. We could too (use M&A), if we wanted to be wheel tycoons.

I think you two need to think on a different scale. You remember (okay, maybe you don't) when roller skates had steel wheels? Rode rough and didn't handle too well (oops, I just described a lot of Cobras  ). Anyway, swap the steel for magnesium and give them a catchy name like "Fire Wheels". The kids will love the way they shower sparks, and you could cross-sell flame retardant socks with each set. Of course, durability will be an issue. I haven't quite resolved that aspect of this scaled down wheel plan (outside of employing child labor in a dirty factory in some Asian country).

Recognize the sarcasm, dude.
What, you don't like the vision of little kids showering sparks as they skate down a street at dusk? Or are you the guy that boos at kids that don't find any Easter eggs on Easter Sunday? ;)

As some of you may have noticed, there were some mags for sale on this site.
Has our list changed at all?

Does it appear that I can plan for these wheels before summer, or is this too early in the project for a forecast?
