Yup.......

Since I'm a distributor for Pro Gram, I thought hard about using their billet cross bolted caps, but it would require a lot more machining and I have my theories about how the girdle would be stronger. We'll see.

Now that bridge on the bottom end makes sense. A 1.35 motor. The heads will need to be 350 or so, no? Also, I found the cams' lobe lifts but not the gross lift. Please enlighten (or repeat if I missed).

Heads will have to be "special"....

Lift at the valve is around .630" with a 1.76 ratio.

It should be easy to do. I make 550 with a .633 exhaust and 320 heads-with less displacement-427.

Well here's your update, Patrick.

Thought I would take a break and work on my own stuff, since it is my birthday and everything.

Got the girdle mocked up, matched the oil pump feed hole from the girdle to the block, then started to drill/tap all the lifter galley holes for pipe plugs.

Got 2 done, broke a tap.

I'm done for the day.

Default She's at it again...

Well that secretary of mine is at it again. Not only did she tickle today for a progress report from you on how you're coming on the engine but she even flagged a note to make sure you didn't leave that little plug out that goes behind the distributor. She says that you're going to forget that plug and then you won't have any oil pressure. I said you're brighter than that, but when she gets something in her head she can be tough to deal with so it's best to just get out of her way. I told her that since it's a Friday before a three day weekend that she should just knock off early, but she said she won't do that until you post an update. So maybe you should get to it, just to make my life a little easier.
