Honestly, I think the safety aspect of zero, one or two roll bars is obviously personal choice and one should always take a look at what we do on a daily basis (i.e., the other 99.99% of time) and figure out where we can reduce the risk to ourselves and family.

Well that was a pretty worthless post. Personally, I think you should continue to blow dry your hair while sitting in a bathtub full of water.

Well, coming from the King of Worthless Posts, I'll consider that an honor.

I'll take the opposite point of view and say that I hope you think very hard about the next time that traffic light turns yellow, and consider potentially racing across the intersection to beat the red light in order to get to the oyster bar quicker, to slow down and stop your car before making that "go route" to the other side of the road. Especially if you have passengers.

Because you know, that's pretty risky behavior.

Yes, all the while steering with my knees, as I text with one thumb, hold a pair of sharp scissors with the other, and throw empty beer cans out at the state trooper behind me....

What are you worried about, Hector?
That looks like a single roll bar to me!

Now, time to think about a dual rollbar on my "his and hers" chopper.

Found this in the gallery. Anyone know if this is a CSX spec car? And how's that for effective-but-ugly rollbars?

I remember that car from Yetiman's post seven years ago. Here: Alternative to hood scoop...

There's a couple of those Shelby racers available right now.

I think Tuto should be more worried about those non-DOT Billboards. I hear they crack and magically deflate inside your garage.

Now, if you've got one or no roll bar AND Billboards, then you might as well smoke a couple packs of Marlboro's, eat fast food, pop a couple of extra strength Tylenol and drink a Fifth of whatever liquor floats your boat, each and every day.

Just a reminder here, even driving solo with a single rollbar does not make you invincible to the reaper.
This fella, God bless his soul, tried to make an illegal pass at high rate of speed and lost control. Yes, he lays on the ground dead.

Single, double - no rollbar...it comes down to how you drive and how much you are aware about your surroundings. They have the correct name: COBRA - one moment slick smoothing around and in a spit second, literally, she will bite and kill you.

You guys keep the rubber down and be safe out there.....

The correct look is 1 hoop behide the driver, but like some said if you ever want to have a passenger in your car on the track you need daul hops. That is the reason I have 2 on mine, didnt really ever like the look but it has grown on me. And as for CSX3183 thinking everone that has 2 is a girly man bite me Just kiding [IMG][/IMG]

If your a purist and your goal is to try and replicate an original as much as possible, then a single hoop or no hoop is for you.

Likely the average person on the street would think a full width bar or dual bars is more symetrical. In my opinion it's also safer when done properly.

Same discussion could be had about low back vs high back seats, original carbed FE's vs modern small block efi engines, pin drive wheels vs standard bolt-on's, twin Paxtons vs twin-turbos (hah).

It's all good. Build your car to please yourself, not others. There will always be critics, including those that will look down on any replica.

Cheers.

My gear.

If you were a purist wouldn't you buy an original Shelby Cobra?
