As I continue my quest for the fakiest fakiedoo around (dang, I wish I'd thought of that - anybody know a good IP lawyer?), here's a bit more of my blatant attempt to ripoff a legend.

With your attention to detail, would inspection reveal a "worn spot" on the chassis with freshly stamped s/n on it

I would expect there are examples of all types on the cover, the registry addresses all types, but kudos to you for making the cover!

That's where a guy rises from an assembler to a builder. A creator even an artist!

AL427SBF, LOL!

There can be a award, maybe called "The Batmobile Award." For a car that's a complete prop.

Dang, almost had him.... But, Evan is always welcome to post ideas for us here to shamelessly incorporate on our cars! I'm an equal opportunity faker and never hesitate to take photos or notes from original cars or other quality replicas.

Anybody else incorporate one of these on their not-so-proper copy? Replica S/C oil tank, but not necessarily hooked up properly - I'm just using it as a breather catch can without the drain back into the sump.

Oh, no,no,no. OP carefully and calculatingly limited participation to only imposters/fakeydos and correctly noting as such your fakeydo is not "real", a Shelby, original or "correct". I and other continuation Cobra and original Cobra owners were expressly not invited. This was made VERY clear at the outset nor do we intend to participate in such a blatantly discriminatory and exclusionary thread! Don't try to explain or back peddle now. We're out.

It's OK though, we completely understand, as our participation with our cars would completely ruin the purity and continuity of "fakeyness" you guys have going here. I have to say though, I thought you guys would have preferred the SAAC definition and categorization of your cars better than the non authoritative and informal " fakeydo " description but hey whatever floats your boat.

Carry on.

: )

Cheers

And now back to our regularly scheduled program - how about a fakery windshield emblem

Or a street roadster sidecurtain pocket (that's too small for the sidecurtains to actually fit in.

Roger that on the windshield tag - got one of those, but as for that side curtain pocket - man, oh man, why didn't I think of that!!!! Now to figure out how to make that work with my seat-back braces on the Kirkey vintage seats.

Well not so fast, one must delve deeper into the underpinnings to understand the genesis of this thread.

Where did this term “fakeydoo” on CC come from, now recognized as a valid description of these cars with active participation by their owners?

Buddyg: … What you have sir is a "fakeydoo" that just looks like a Cobra …
Replica or a modern reproduction?

Yes Evan, you coined the term on CC which is now in the dictionary of The world's largest non-biased Cobra site! Is not imitation the highest form of flattery? I would say this positions you well to be an unbiased gatekeeper of all things fake, no? Note, it has already been seen that all the chevy guys would have been cast to the wind as “nolo contendere” based on misunderstood AC Car history. Fortunately, the error was pointed out and now the chevy guys are back in it BIG with their entries on par with China knock-offs.

I think CCRsAC recognizes your expertise in this area and is soliciting your part-time help in determining the validity of fakiness with certain creative interpretations. Your contribution in this capacity would only serve to keep the thread on track.
