Are those fake Girling reservoirs and a fake voltage regulator too?
You are indeed skilled in fakery.

BUSTED!!!!
Yes indeedy - those Girlings (let's call them "girlies" since they're not real) are from Moss, so reproductions all the way and the voltage regulator is really one of the repo solid-state units with an old cover in place of the low-profile one that it came with.

Thanks - I can't take credit, though, it was my friend who owns the shop we painted it at who recommended the black sealer underneath, which gives it a really rich look.

Now, c'mon guys... show how far off the mark your cars are - let's be proud of the rattle-traps we throw together in our garages.

I call this one the "dash nub" - truly the height of idiocy to spend time (in this case an entire weekend) building up layer after layer of fiberglass strips to round over the 90* cowl lip of what's really just an inverted boat hull and graft in a piece of metal to make it look a little more like something it ain't.

I didn't build mine, or paint it, put the wheels on, or even change the oil in it the first three years. However, it is BAD!!! I have spent a lot of time, money and effort in keeping it in showroom condition. And for all the smug "is it real?" people out there (especially those that don't have a car at all, let alone one this nice), SUCK IT!

Rock on, man, even if we all know that nobody, and I mean nobody, who knows anything about Cobras would ever think of putting 17" wheels on a real one - how horrifying.
Wear your fakeness proudly, brother!

18s are an option now. Oh, the level of "not real" keeps getting bigger and bigger.
Nice car by the way. Love the color.

Keep calm and fake on!
Creative use of Finishline's adhesive "AC" steering wheel hub centers on what are clearly bolt-on wheels.

A kit car (Gasp) with 17"X10" wheels and Chevy motor and TH 400 auto box and Jag suspension with Ford badged steering wheel (the only Ford thing in it lol) built (assembled) by wife and I some 20 odd years back - It out fakes you all.
But it is a GENUINE trade marked Cobra as Shamrock in South Africa held the trade mark at that time.

A Jag suspension (?!?!?!)... oh the humanity. I sure hope it doesn't have those inappropriate inboard brakes - we all know that that was something the real ones eschewed early on. You should be ashamed of yourself, but then again, you're probably having too much fun to be worried about that!

That is looking like it is going to be a beautiful Fake. I was going to say that I ( as I get reminded of it constantly on this site) was one of the Most Fake. The Chevy engine, the beautiful Bow Tie. But in this whole Fake-a-doo topic thing I have found out the AC Heritage the new and genuine new incarnation of AC Cars Ltd is making Genuine COB/COX Continuation COBRAS with .... wait for it...... GM LS-7 engines!! As much as the new series of CSX 4000 plus car are REAL1's. The new AC's are genuine Real1s. So new genuine Real1s AC's come from the factory with GM/Chevy engine. Something the New CSX's can not say as they are sold as "Specialty Kit's" minus engine-minus trans. So who has more of a REAL1 ?

What the heck, I'll play:
Fake aluminum engine compartment (well, it's real aluminum but it covers fiberglass), and one that I always chuckled at myself for doing - a genuine Lucas washer bottle, but not the "correct" one.
Another sign of insanity - genuine Lucas tail lights, but the wrong ones

Speaking of fake aluminum - no, no, no... that doesn't count because you used the real stuff.
Here's how a real schlub does it... I painted the inside of my FFR fiberglass body with Eastwood Aluma-Blast paint after sanding it smooth, knocking some dimples in it with a small angle grinder to give the appearance of being hammered, then sealing it. This is the inside of one of the quarter panel areas after hours of dry-brushing to give the effect of mill finish aluminum panel.
Now if that ain't fake and bush-league, I don't know what is:

I will take your fake on the inside aluminum and do the whole car outside fake aluminium. Aluminium poweder mixed with resin and scothbrited just like a real arruminium one....cant tell it from a kirkham at 100 yards...throw in the fake vinyl stripes, wheel spinners, bonnet rivets and a Chevy LS.....And still get asked if its real every day!

I would say you have CCRsAC beat as long as you keep moving. Your fakey-doo is made to parade up & down main street but don't stop. Pop the hood and the chevy will "rat" you out every time, well done regardless
