If I recall, it seems that Tom said something like they produced these cobra replicas earlier and then sort of took a hiatus from building them and are now just getting back in the game. But then I think he said he still owned the last one built before the break in production. Why doesn't he show us some pictures of that car? Or better yet bring his personal car to his shop for some local cobra club members to check out?
Perhaps his personal car is a bit old and not in show car condition from being a regular driver so the paint might not be as shiny as it could be, etc., but then again why not show us a car with some miles on it to show that it can be reliable driver?
You know Shelby was a bit of a snake oil salesman and could exaggerate a bit. Maybe Tom is too. Perhaps the actual number of cobra replicas built is somewhere between 1 and 150 cars and just maybe that number is actually a lot closer to 1 than 150. Well, lets at least see his personal car to show some proof. Even if he conveniently keeps his personal car at his vacation residence in Paris, Beijing or Hyderbad, there is probably some club cobra member who could stop by to check it out.

I was thinking that we could use an investigative cobra journalist to seek and out and report on Tom's personal car. Maybe Ned? No, it's not an original cobra. Maybe Trevor? No, he's on the wrong side of the pond (and if he came over to Florida who would watch his greyhounds while he was gone? Not me).
I know, we need our friend Wallace Wyss on the case. This might actually fit into the latest rumored book I heard he was working on. The working title is apparently "Celebrities who owned or perhaps contemplated owning a Cobra who would not date me: My misadventures with Lady Campbell, Miley Cyrus and others".
ghia cobra
I hear the publisher wants Wally to shorten the book's title a bit. Now if only someone would hint to Wally that Florida celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Bruce Jenner are thinking about buying an Alloycars replica and that both of them may be single soon, we might be able to see some fine spy paintings of Tom's car and an interesting chapter to Wally's next book.

best idea ever since this thread has been opened. But i think we can do this a little bit quicker. If you have some guys who can show up in west palm beach in january 11th, at the "supercar week" show were we are present with some cars we are building. Or getting a reporter...publicity...i like this idea a lot. If you can indicate one just let me know or send him whenever you want. Thank you for your fantastic idea.
But, there is a rumor here that florida people are not welcome to the rest of the usa clubcobra forum. Maybe sometimes someone explain it to me because i dont get it

I don't know... they were just trying to make a buck and, after all, these cars pretty much all look the same anyway, and a picture's just a picture, and most of can't tell the difference between aluminum and plastic without a magnet anyway (a magnet does work for that, doesn't it?). So, I say we welcome Alloycars in to the fold and just let bygones be bygones. After all, it's almost Christmas Eve. Where's that Holiday spirit?

No it does not Pat.
Cease fire 12-24 and 12-25, if he still adds to his large pile - it will continue.

Well no wonder I haven't been able to tell the difference between aluminum and plastic Cobras, I've been using the wrong test! Well, if I could make that mistake, surely the Alloycars guys could be forgiven for their little transgression....

Tom, I will be at Homestead-Miami Speedway next weekend (Jan 3 / 4) for a track event with Chin Motorsports. If you want to bring a car, feel free. You'll be able to pull the trailer into the paddock and let the "Miami Money" car guys look at it. I'll bring my Canon 7D and take pictures of it from every which angle and post for all to see.
Send me a message if you'd like to do it as I don't normally lug that camera. It won't cost you a dime other than gas money...

I was looking over the thread and was very upset about how bad my long year friend Tom took care about our business in my absence, specially answering emails and customer requests.
I cant really follow what this is about but as I understood he wanted to surprise me advertising our new product and having some sales before I am coming back. At this moment I still try to figure out what else he has done.
I can not be mad for someone who has good intention as everybody can make mistakes, but treating forum members this way is absolutely not acceptable.
There were posted photos and information I cant follow as I dont see nothing wrong when I came back but so many forum members and so many obvious replies cant be wrong.
I am deeply in shame as this is not my philosophy. I wanted to use this forum in the future to give me some ideas and critics to perfecting our products. But those actions from my trusted sales manager are totally unacceptable.
I fired Tom immediately and he still was thinking that he is right what bothers me even more. Nothing like this happened in the last 20 years since I am making custom aluminum cars with my team. We are on first place on Google for our aluminum 550 Spyder with 100% excellent reputation from visitors and customers. I think this is why I treat them myself.
I needed a sales manager for my new Cobra business and my first choice was Tom as he knows everything about us and the project. I was so wrong.
Now I am searching for a new sales manager but this will be not so easy. I will have to take care about until everything is going as it must be.
I am asking for accepting my deepest apology and I am fully responsible for actions made in my name and in my company. When I am looking over this thread I still can't believe what happened here.
I am deeply in shame and there are no words to describe how I feel. We are working very hard as this is a hard job. Firing him was one of my best things I have done so far...but for what a price.
Hope you understand and lets start this new year following new ideas with new friends.
Sincerely
Ingo

Ingo,
Your "Friend" Tom must have also been your webmaster as well, as every time we caught him in a lie, mysteriously, the pictures in question were swapped for other stolen images in a short time. File name changes included in an attempt to cover his behind.
The bottom line is that your friend "Tom" was not te start of your problems, as your web site (I've seen it prior to the last Ebay auction) showed pictures of a Factory Five fiberglass car, a Kirkham, and a Kirkham bodies, Factory Five MK II prototype as your own product. The files are still on your server (copies have been archived by various online services that do so for all web sites) as of this morning. So the nefarious means to an end backfired on you and your company. I suspect at this time that "Tom" is actually you, based on the Ebay conversation and posts here, your mannerism and writing style is identical to "Tom". Your excuse for not traveling 5,000 miles back from vacation to show someone a car (Ebay and here, several people who inquired) is the same excuse that you have in your email to me. I think you grossly underestimated the knowledge base of your prospective customer(s) for an aluminum bodies Cobra replica, and you are now attempting to place all blame on the mysterious Tom. Sadly in your case, your posts and your emails have been traced back to one and the same account. Perhaps coming clean, being 100% honest, and facing up to your mistakes might get you out of the doghouse you are in right now. I suspect not, and that you have made enough mistakes to cause irreparable harm to your reputation in the Cobra circles, both real and replica.
Regardless, I wish you well.
Bill S.

Ingo,
It's truly sad you had to play such games with your target audience right from the start. It was also sad that you could not just confess to the sins of using someone elses hard earned work and credit it as your own. Then when caught, continue to manipulate your web server in an attempt to hide your underhandedness. Then your message above to me saying that you fired "Tom" when you found out about his posts here, only to then fess up and let everyone know that "Tom" was really you in the first place, as if we did not know. Sad that you felt the need to continue on with you lies, as it does not put a good light on yourself or your company. Regardless of your standing with your Porsche replica (as a PCA member, those circles like your product) offering. Finally, the labeling of a certain Factory Five MK II with a Kirkham body on it as your own was the final death knell in these circles. As they say, you can fool some of the people some of the time. But an attempt to fool some of us in these replica circles backfired, and now you are just jerking yourself off to think that this is good PR for your company.
While I still wish you well, I'm thinking that your days in the Cobra replica business will be short lived due to your own personal actions, and your lack of taking personal responsibility for those actions on this site.
Bill S.

It probably should be noted that all of these threads are archived and available for anyone to do a search for "Alloy Cars" in the future. And I don't believe the thread will show up in the advertising section. Just sayin'..

Dear mrmustang. Can I ask you why you are so worry about my business is going well? I dont get it. You never have seen us, I dont know you. Who do you want protect from what? The only guy here in this forum who is using and publishing photos as I can see is you, and you only. Even Tom (yes, our imaginable friend) assumed that he was wrong using some FFR pictures but you are doing everything to take YOUR mistake out of the question. YOU HAVE USED ALLOYCARS PHOTOS AND CLAIMED THAT THERE ARE NOT OURS.
Anyway, I see that this is not going nowhere and guys like you never will change. For me you are like an elderly nosy woman sneaking behind windows and even worst...you must be blind too.
By the way...Everybody can see TOM...live behind our WEB cameras. The big bold German looking guy. I kicked him out from his position but this doesnt mean that I put an old friend on a street who had good intentions making some mistakes, but he will not more related to sales, but at our workshop....and he will be at the Supercar week in Palm Beach on day 11th this month too. SO YOU CAN MEET HIM LIVE... And me too and it will be my pleasure to kick you back to space where you come from.
So please mr-inventer ..whats next? New lies...new inventions. Oh, I forgot you are spying from Google earth. You are welcome.
