I guess after reading 24 pages of this thread, my question would be that if I was wandering around with $100k or so in my pocket, would I take it there?
The answer would be no. Without a customer base, reputation and a following, then it seems to me that it is just a very expensive hobby that will end up with Ebay as the dump site over and over.

I just talked with my buddy Dave Hackney Cruzin Slide Shows & we are ready to make the 2-1/2 hour trip to Fort Lauderdale to visit Alloycars. It will be done soon possibly this next week but we both have commitments so hang in there for the pictures and the truth. We both will be bringing our cameras.

Can we do some simple math here?
A. New FFR rolling chassis w/o body and with FFR markup = $__
B. Full drivetrain, assuming TKO or similar and to be conservative a 427 mid-range SBF = $__
C. Hand-built custom alloy body, assuming 1,500 hours minimum at say, $50/hr (not sure what FL craftsman may cost) = $__
D. Fit-up, paint and detailing = $__
Assuming also that A-D need to have some markup to be profitable,
what would A+B+C+D would equal?

You're more than welcome to use racial slurs, demean the handicapped, or how about posting a link to one of those 10,000 Hitler videos that are subtitled in order to be funny, but appears to be insensitive to Holocaust. Please go ahead, if you so chose.
