Guys,
Is there more to this than what meets the eye?
Was there an orchestrated effort to run off Hal and use the opportunity of him telling of a story about an afternoon in his car to do so?

As a 930 Turbo Porsche owner I personally would have welcomed a little debris and dust blown my way so I could have the excuse to teach someone a lesson.

Yes, right there, on the street. Big deal.

I have done more than a few jack rabbit starts and stops in my car in my life. Whenever I get the urge to blip the throttle once in a while I don't necessarily head on out the nearest track and wait for the gates to open three days later.

It is there, then and right now.

Call me irresponsible also if you like, however I am not going anywhere! i won't do what Hal did. I won't take my car and my keyboard and say goodbye.

If you think ANY demonstration of HP on the street is wrong, and want to ***** about those who do, it is only fair that only those who have never owned a radar detector, or have gotten a speeding ticket do the rebuttals. Rest of you self righteous safety nerds sit this one out.

Believe it or not, there are many Cobra, Corvette, Porsche owners out there who DON'T want to go to a track. There are way too many irresponsible people there.

Sometimes the highway where the speed limit is 70, picking the tempo up from 30 to 60 MPH in a hurried fashion is all we want.

If the speed limit is 40, getting up to that speed rather briskly makes us feel good.

What are you going to do about it?

I wonder if any of you are as rabid abut drunk drivers, unsafe vehicles, unlicensed drivers?

Let one person mention an occasion of momentary lapse in judgment, we get people start the stoning process.
Thank God he was not driving a REAL Shelby, we could have killed two birds with one stone that way.

Lighten up or go visit places where your sort is the norm rather than the exception, make room for Hal so he can come back and tell us STORIES. he is more entertaining than you.
You are boring!
This is NOT traffic School, this is not Driver Ed, This is not a conference of Insurance Institute on safety....This is a COBRA FORUM full of people who bought, built and drive fast fricking cars and 99% don't know where Glenn is or don't care.

Get a life!

TURK
The Irresponsible one
