You could tie the blocks together with a small beam side to side to stop it walking and then you could place it anywhere.Look on a car dealers lot that has those drive up ramps.Great Idea!!!!

Had not thought about building anything like your ingenious setup Red Barchetta but after too many years using floor jacks and stands to get under our car it is time. Thank you for such detail and the great pictures.

Dean:
that is exactly what I need, on my way to Lowes to get my materials and start the winter projects with more access to my car. I will PM you later for more details as needed.
Great design!!

Lou,

Dean did a great job on his ramps but remember, he never lets a bug get on his car either so you would expect only the best out of him.

Since Dean has been banned for whatever reason, and some of you have sent PMs wanting to know how to contact him to follow up with him on questions about the ramps, you can do so over on our site at Talk@CobraRegistry.com.

He uses the same screen name there and is always happy to help anyone.

This is NOT an attempt to raid CC and get members over to our site. It is just an answer to several PMs and I don't come here often enough to catch them every day. However if the moderators feel I am out of line, delete the post or whatever you feel is the appropriate action.

Ron

Default Caution about wood

Just in case some of the readers are better mechanics than carpenters. When selecting wood make sure that it is clear (no knots). If you cannot find clear wood and have to use wood with knots, the knots should be round and pass straight through the board, not at an angle. Any board with a knot that runs across the board is at increased risk of splitting. Good luck.

Ten years and they still are looking for something like this.
