Stuart, my man, I am so sorry to hear about your accident and near death experience. We are all thankful for your friends arrival as quick as they did. My hat is off to them for saving your life. I am proud of their brave, quick action. We love you buddy and want to hear you're OK ASAP. There, of course will be some pain between but we are with you all the way. When you get your feet solid again we'll help you find another horse to climb back on. We miss you buddy and want you back. Your arrival always lights up the room.

Not sure why Dan and I seems so much alike.
As I came over the hill Mike Brasfield seemed to be stopped I hit my brakes and my car jumped to the right ( think the rear brakes locked, got a whiff of rubber, got to check this out ). So it might have been me that he saw as I was all the way over into the emergency lane at the time.
Edit: Had to go back and check the post from Mikie. Missed it before. Had to be me that he saw.

Thanks be to God and prayers for Stuart and all the others....Sounds like a few Cobras gave their lives for the first responders; a sad but good trade!

Scary, scary. Glad to hear that things didn't turn worse... such as the possible head on collision.
Here's a wish for brief surgery, a speedy recovery, and back in the saddle again soon for all involved.

Now I'm glad the tranny was leaking and laying on the garage floor. I wanted to be there but glad I wasn't. Dan, let me know if I can help in any way.

I haven't seen so many old guys move so fast to get to Stuart and help. Great job was done by all that helped probably close to 10 guys. Many of us called 911, thank goodness for cell phones. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Stuart. Dan and Jeff, thank goodness you are safe, can't say the same for your cars. Where did you have them taken? Lunch was delicious thanks to Carl's suggestion. Speaking of Carl, on the return home before we reached Superior, a flashing light pulled Carl to the side of the road. What happened next? This was a lousy day for Cobra people!

Karl blew me off the road on the uphill grade only to be nailed by a highway patrol car sitting near the top of the grade. What was the final story Karl? Sorry he got you. I feel lucky we made it home with no other problems. We, as a group, drove pretty conservative home. I thought 55 mph was fast enough for me today.
Glad to hear about Stuart is pretty OK. All of us were tying out best to move the car and get him out. I was shocked when he sat up and tried to climb out of the car, asking "what happened". I was walking back to my car when I saw the SUV lock the breaks and plow into to Dan and Jeff's cars. Sorry guys, I'm (we are all) so glad you were not in the car when the lady rear ended you. I was watching that lane of traffic go by at or near the speed limit. Wonder if a cell phone was in her ear?
Stuart...our whole community is pulling for a speedy recovery. You're one tough cookie. And, the AZ Cobra club members can be proud that they reacted so quickly and were able to lend life saving assistance.
Contrats to everyone.

My thoughts exactly. Stuart you ought to be in the Guinness Book of Records.
Good luck in you're recovery.

What the picture cannot show was the body flex that occured.
It appears that the body flexed at the seat level.

Hell of a day. Thank God Stuart's injuries were only what they were and that idiot in the SUV didn't kill any of the rest of us. That thing smashing into Dan's car just 2 lanes from where Pam was sitting was just surreal.
You're a great group of folks, Pam and I would hate to lose any of you.

I second that. When the Rav 4 hit Dan and Jeff's car my wife and I were maybe 50' from the front of Jeff's car helping to pick up debris from Stuarts car. What a surreal morning indeed. Glad to here Stuart is doing better. My wife and I volunteer to bring him a meal when he gets home.
I wonder what happened to the other 2 cars in front of him? Did anyone else recall 2 other cars? I wonder if they bolted..
Sorry Dan and Jeff hopefully she is well insured.

Back from the white light
Can anyone let us know where Stuart is? Which hospital? Is he allowed visitors? I have a need to see him to erase the picture I have in my mind of him in the car with those cables against his throat. Think I'll sleep better once I see him whole and on his way to recovery.
Thanks
Bev

If you are talking about the 2 cars in front of Stuart I think Lyle was in front of him and I was in front of Lyle. Both of us and Brandon (Lyle's son, hope I got the name spelled right) where there to help push the car back.

Guys, While commiserating over a cold beer this afternoon, the question came up about what would have/could have happened to all of us if mine and Jeff's cars hadn't been parked where they were. I believe the mayhem and carnage would have been much worse. What if Linda and I hadn't had an arguement and she hadn't stayed in San Diego this week? She'd have been sitting in the car while I was trying to help with Stuart. That would have been terrible. When all is said and done, I guess losing a car and damaging another is about as well as this could have happened since the dumb broad in the SUV wasn't willing to slow down.. It could have been much worse.
Oh, and ya'll should have heard the DPS officer who was driving his new car with 9000 miles on it....
My new mantra.. Does anyone know where I can find a CCX car for sale?

Good to hear everyone is going to be ok! It's terrible that so many people had to suffer damage because of one person's stupidity!
Stuart, hope you have a quick and full recovery!
