Wet Or dry its still one hell of a weekend and its my only week off i get every year so enjoy it regardless.
I am pondering is it wrong to want to be compeditive the road regitered cobra have been whipping the race cobras a55 lately . I guess if it rains i will 1/2 a chance.
I did a bit of work to the beast i spaced the steering wheel back 2 inches so Super Mario can reach it better.
Now it rubs my belly. Buggar.

I am starting to get excited now, Packed a heap of gear into the Valiant last night (engine block and computers), will pack my helmet, shoes and suit tonight (So I dont forget)

Replacing side cover, rocker cover and manifold gasket on Val tonight.

Only 5 more sleeps till I leave.

This engine block is going into George.
All the machine work is being done in Melbourne, dropping it off Tuesday 27th, picking it up Wednesday 5th for trip home.

Just a 318, mild build for towing, with appropriate cam, 4 barel dual plane manifold, not sure on either a Edelbrock 500 or Holley 600 yet.
I have a 727 auto to fit (but looking at importing an O/D auto from USA), also have to pick up a complete power steering setup just north of Adelaide on my way home.

Speaking of George, the mighty 215 big block had some new rocker cover, side cover and manifoild gaskets fitted last night, also an oil & filter change.

Is this a favoured machine shop from a past life? I'm sure Gav would have good contacts at Mildura.

Ash bought another quick release steering boss and fitted another steering wheel to it so now Mario has his own steering wheel and seat pad. I think that is whats been holding him up he could'nt push the gas pedal right to the floor.

getting close now hope you bring plenty of E85 Ash might not be able to buy it in Goulbourne.
I was thinking E10 might be the go well atleast its cheaper.

You could have got Super to wear platform shoes..... no doubt he has some in his closet........ lol
I'll have 130 litres plus what is in the car...... I'll prob bring most of it back with me as it looks like pi$$ing rain for the whole week... The closest E85 will be Canberra but I'll prob fill up just where the M7 meets the Hume. There is a caltex there with E85.

Well, at the risk of looking stupid, here goes nuthin.

Ok, first up I will say, I am blaming the fact I was not well (feel better today though).
Last night I loaded the Cobra onto the trailer (all went well even though car is lower), So with handbrake on and in gear (Cobra), I drove the Valiant around and backed the trailer into the shed (all good)
I checked the balance of the trailer and all was ok, so I unhooked the tow hitch and drove the valiant out, all good.

Looking at the trailer I decided the Cobra needed to move forward about 6 inches, so I undid hand brake and knocked into neutral. Trouble started.

Well the Cobra started rolling backward, I tried to stop it, but no luck.
As the Cobra was rolling backward the front of the trailer came up, to the point where the back of the trailer was on the ground.
Cobra continued rolling off the trailer, until it wedged itself under the F 100, now I realise this sounds bad, but in all honesty, things could not have been better, only damage was a bit of the beige primer and it did break the locking latch on the LeMans filler (this is what stopped the Cobra going further under), if it had of been able to roll all the way off, then the trailer would have dropped, flicking the back up under the nose of the Cobra as the wheels rolled clear.
Now I did not get a picture at this stage (not sure if I wanted to relive it), but it was quiet a sight, to see the Cobra front wheels still on the trailer, the trailer nose way up in the air and the back of the Cobra wedged under the F truck.
After a long hard think, I decided to hand brake on and chock the Cobra wheels, push the F truck back to get Cobra out from under it, then chained the Trailer hitch to Bull bar on a Troop carrier I have, and backed the trailer and troopy out, all went well.
Here is the damage.

I can tell you it was not a nice feeling as the Cobra was rolling and trailer was going up.
I normally put my trolley jack under the back frame of the trailer when I unhitch it, dont know why I forgot last night?

So please be careful and secure your load properly.

Not too soon at all, I was greatful the only damage was the primer and it has also bent the latch on the cap, so a new cap will be bought while the dollar is still good.

On another note, my fire extinguisher is tagged and ready, Chubb supplied a new one free as sponsorship.
