Just got to check trailer bearings now before I go!

Thanks Gav, will be good to catch up over a bit and beer. Yes check those bearings, I have seen many a lonely boat/caravan/trailer on the side of the road over the years with only one wheel attached :-(

I am attempting to get out of Melb on thurs before the crappy weather starts on Friday as I am going up in my "no-soft-top" Cobra :-)

Chris did it used to be blue? I'm sure I have an old RACE magazine that had it on the front cover?

Not getting much detail....but a couple of texts tell me that the Queenslanders are going pretty quick....Wayne Proctor and Ash Bright and John White all banging out low 1min 34 secs laps !!!!!......Not sure how that stands up to the other guys, but that seems bloody quick to me.......

Any results guys ?

Cheers,
Warren

Yes that was very quick - it was just awesome watching them go for it. Balls like watermelons. The black and orange thing was doing 1:27's I think.

Default Shelbyfest

Well done to the boys. Thanks Tenrocca and Modena for the pics and updates. I believe the full spec Porsche cup car on Friday with all the fruit and fresh slicks was doing 1.26's so a 1.27 is bloody quick. Mind you a street registered cobra doing the times above shows you how fast these guys are going..... Scary. Let's hope the great weather and event participation carries on to the Nationals this year too. Spookypt

Without wishing to open the irrelevant old debate, I often wonder why the Holden engined Cobras don't figure more prominently in these tables. Surely they are on average more powerful and lighter, equally modifiable ....

Is it the driver factor mainly, or just that fewer GM cars are racing at these events?

Fewer LS Cars - ford cars been around longer and have had greater development - A few more "serious" racer folk among the ford cars. I think if you were to look at the results over the years, there would be a representation of gen3\4 cars that is proportional to the number that is out there. I think two gen3 cars have taken out the overall shelbyfest trophy out of the 8 years. Less than 25% of the cars entering are Gen 3/4. LS cobras have taken out King and queen cobra previously. I dont think there is a great disparity, but at the moment there are a few Ford guys that are in another league from all of us (Other Fords and Chev engined cobras) - and they are a lot of fun to watch!
