Hi Richard.
Pictures: bit tricky I'll admit. I had a search and you actually haven't successfully loaded any into any gallery spot I can see. It is actually a two step process. First you need to upload a bunch of pics to your gallery. Then you can use them in your posts. Check out Boxheads response in the "pictures howto" thread which is second to the top on the main Aussie Club page (one level up from here).
Good luck!

(You know, it just occurred to me that it might be a deliberate test for us newbies by the cobra fraternity. If we can't use this forum we can't build a cobra kit! Duh!)

Hi Richard
Sorry to say this but only the first post has any picture showing... Not sure why.
Getting the hang of pictures is a pain. That is why I went to photo bucket, but that is not great either.
Posting pictures in a build thread is a labour of love for some!
We are very keen to see your build though...
Tony
Ps - hi Legless, I have meet Armin. I saw his cobra at a car show and said hi. I also had a look at a GT40 that was at his workshop. I am sure I will be having a lot of contact with him in the long run. Good to have someone here with a cobra, experience and also in the right trade! Thanks for the heads up though. There must be more. Cheers...

Hi Tony,
You should be able to see the images now - they show up when I view, but are back on page one. Somehow I have a duplicate post, but other than that it all looks fine to me.
Let me know if you can't see it.
Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard
sorry mate - I can't see the pics, and when I copy the link it shows a link to an album and picture ID, but the picture does not come up.
I am not sure what the problem is - seems they got to your album but will not post...?
Tony

Hi Tony,
Funny, it comes up on my screen - I can even see the images in your quote.
When I set up the album, I made it private, so have now made it public. Perhaps that will fix it up.

Going well and good selection of pics which I am sure many will find interesting.
Nice to see a build with all new and shiney parts.

The quality of components and the attention to detail is the big thing with these kits.
It is really unbelievable what the AP team has done here. IMO he should forget the Kirkham stuff (as nice as they are) and just do his own stuff. Pictures tell more than a thousand words.
Just my 20c worth. Great build RGF, just shows how quickly these can go together.

Great to see another build thread, well done RGF.
Build threads are a great source for information and always popular.

Is that a bespoke steering column or from a donor vehicle? I don't see any webbing for the collapsible section - not saying it doesn't collapse, just curious as I'd like to replace my Ford Laser column one day.

It's great to see the details in your photos. Any shot that has a little peak at the beautiful rocker arm suspension is even better!

Hi Sambo,
The steering column does collapse It is specially made by Absolute Pace.
From Memory there is a long rivet through the inner and outer shaft that make up the steering column.
Here you can see the outer part of the column which supports the steering shaft as it goes through the firewall of the car to the universal joint then on to the Rack and Pinion .
There is a bearing bolted to the firewall for support .
Cheers
Brad

Why do you want to change your column. Strip any column down to its bare parts and they are pretty much all the same. Hideous part about the laser column is the shroud that looks out of place on a cobra. Throw it in the bin and get a piece of 4" alloy tube as the new shroud. Add an Mg or mini stalk and your done.
