New Pace 427 Build
I started the build of my Pace 427 in September 2013. Mine is chassis #10.
I chose to take Craig up on his offer to build the rolling chassis in his factory in QLD. I am not mechanical and this is my first build, so starting the build at the Pace factory really was a good option and I am very grateful to Craig for suggesting this.
I all it took me just four (long) days to complete this and it was made possible because all the parts were laid out and Craig and his team were extremely helpful in guiding me and answering all my questions.
The car arrived at home in late October (it was on display at the Pace stand at the Cobra Nationals).
Between my work on the rolling chassis and the car arriving home, Craig's team had added the insulation and heatshields, and Neil Streeting of Street 'n' Track) had fitted the engine and diff ( both Holden 6.0L HSV VE LS2) and gearbox (Tremec TKO600).
Since then, the build has happened slowly but surely at home.
To try to keep this brief but informative, I am going to focus on posting photos of the different stages and components as I add them. I hope these are useful for other Pace builders.
If anyone wants other photos to help them with parts of the build, please let me know and I'll forward these on.
Cheers,
Richard
