Definitely get your entries in - we are pretty short at the moment - Thanks Gav...
It might even be an idea to invite your (non Cobra) friends to enter as well.

Close - found out my Accel pedal was hitting the side louvre protrusion into the footwell. Was only ever at 80%, feels a lot better now I have WOT :-) (Had to put in a led shift thingy as it was hitting rev limiter much faster now)
Andrew - old tyres, excuses excuses.
Looking forward to it. Cheers Gregg

Energy Polarizer?
Dont worry Gregg, Ill raise the white flag now. Old hard tyres, cars still not back together, wont even have time to run the brillo pad over her, been taking driving tips off Gav. Im no chance.

Hi Folks, I just joined the site. I take it anyone can rock up at the Nationals and check out the vehicles and talk to owners about their build experiences? I can probably only make the Saturday. I'm just starting the journey and have been trolling through this website and others for info. Will there be any manufacturers at the nationals?

Auswallaby, hi and welcome to the site.
Yes, anyone can attend the Nationals, it is free to get in.
Absolute Pace will have a large display again this year.

Hi ozwallaby welcome. Yes you certainly can see the sights and talk to all at the nats. A friendly smile and handshake is always welcome as we all enjoy talking about our cars.
AP cars will be there from Qld with a display. Ask for Craig. Superformance have started a new franchise and may be there. Ask for John aka LJ. There are many others like FFR, CR, Cobra kits,Drb, Python, ByDesign and apparently even Backdraft now but in my experience don't always represent their product at the Nationals. In the past Classic Revival, ByDesign, Drb and Cobra kits have but don't know about this year.
Turn up say hi. Theres lots to see and we're all pretty friendly.

Excellent. Will be great to have you along this year. So many are keen to see your car in the flesh fully rego'd. A milestone for you and a significant one for Craig @ AP also. To see Craig's idea hatch to what we see in the flesh in your build pics is outstanding. Not much good said these days about Australian manufacturing and its so good to see there are still a few choosing and proving it can be done here with great success.
Don't worry about QLD Transport.....We approve!

Brad,
As a scrutineer I can tell you that the car does not necessarily need to be registered but it needs to be 'registerable'. For the street classes it needs to have all things that a registered street car would have. working lights, full windscreen, full exhaust, legal tyres etc etc. Your car should pass even if technically it is not registered. Andrew's (Tenrocca) car has passed this test in the past when he was proudly unregistered....

Are there any rules preventing an entrant from competing in two classes?.

You probably could Les, as long as the vehicle met the class requirements. You would most likely incur double entry costs though.
You can still win King Cobra from say Class 1 - you just need to be as fast as the very quick buys in Class 4 & 7
This is where I believe it is judged wrongly. A class 2 car will never win King Cobra. I believe it should be awarded to the highest points scorer within their respective class.
King Cobra is often won by a car that may not have won all their events but accumulated the most points due to quicker lap times. If you can beat all comers in your class, then why aren't you awarded the top gong?
Nuff said, I'll just duck now

Bugga ... I should have been more clear.
What I mean is two drivers sharing the one car but competing in two different classes. ie. not competing against each other in the same class just sharing the driving duties in different classes.
The only change to the set up of the car to comply with the regs would be a change of wheels/tyres.
Given two registration fees for the different drivers would be paid I can't see the problem.....or am I barking up the wrong tree?
