And don't forget scrutineering is first thing Friday morning, get your wrist bands from the office first or you won't be scrutineered.
Don't forget to check your fire extinguishers!!!! Older than three years and you will be asked to buy a new one. They usually have some for sale at scrutineering.
Another thing, We want to see the battery and check to make sure it is mechanically secure. This is not an 'eye' test, if you car rolls and the battery falls out because it is not secure then there is a good chance it will short out and create a spark / fire...... We don't want that.
And lastly make sure your brake light is working!!!

These are the three main things that people fail on the day so make sure you aren't that person.

Bring on the weekend!!!!!!!

Why would you need brake lights Ash? You never use them.

Just as a small addition to that, we have always had the issue of a big line up outside the office to sign in and get your wrist bands before scrutineering.
This year we are planning to set up a club desk out front of the office for the entrants that have a current track (CAMS, aasa etc.) license. This means you won't have to go into the office or wait for the 8am office opening time (for the early birds).
You will simply be able to fill out the form, show your license and get your wrist band out front.

Sitting here jealously reading the posts, sad the Cobras gone but that's life....

Have a great weekend fellas, try to keep on the blacktop (unlike me) drive within your limits and come come safely....however, on the track, GO FOR IT!

Have fun all, I am actually wishing I had organised time off to head over.

Really thought I was over racing the Cobra.

As an interested bystander, wanting to be part of the action! How is the king cobra determined, show n shine is easy to judge the different spec cars, how does performance get equalized from the different categories. ie 5l motor compared to a 6.2l s/c in a drag, cat 1 v cat 7
cheers

The points for king cobra are taken from the overall results regardless of class.
Tyres are the biggest factor IMHO, there are a couple of 5ltr cars that will spank my 7ltr on the track but they lack the power in the drags, so it all equals out.

Do the control tyres hold the advantage or do the supa dupa road tyres on 18" rims hold sway?

The supa dupa, like Yoko A050 are faster than the Kumho KU36

Hoity, The KU36 is considered a "extreme performance tyre", so basically the softest style of road tyre before you get into the R Specs like R888, NT01 and A050. As a lot of folk were running these as their street tyre, the new class 7 was introduced last year - basically for those who want to have a bit of fun without going stupid fast and\or having the budget for an extra set of wheels\R spec tyres. I think there are a few extras in this class this year including a club pres with a track virgin Pace. Should be a lot of fun.

Weather here is just beautiful so have been out a bit over the last few days making sure everything still works. Not a lot of changes from last year - maybe just a few less stickers.

There's no 'program' produced for the event, good idea however. We used to capture brand and engine size back in the West Wyalong days. I think the entry form has engine size for classes.
I think there is a list pinned on the wall of the control tower showing the class number and its updated with results during the day. Class number will give you an idea of the engine capacity for most classes.

The results are usually published on the NSWCC web site as well as Natsoft. Make of Cobra is not recorded though. Any make when set up right is capable of doing well though, and just because one of one make is quick, doesnt necessarily mean another one will be. They are the cabbage patch kids of the car world....unless you have one of them identikit bolt together jobbies

It was more knowing what I was looking at, I can't tell one brand from the other from 20 metres away. Was hoping to have a program so if I saw something I like I could find out what it was. I will just have to be social and ask lots of newbie questions.

Mate you'll find most people are pretty up for a chat and answer questions. Ill be in garages on pitt lane so come and say g'day. Mines the one that looks like it has been painted with wet cement. Ill bring an extra helmet - at the end of Fri\Sat you might get a ride in a passenger seat. You could find someone who knows how to drive but wheres the fun in that
