What about the one that had flood damage and rebuilt here on the forum? I think it is on page 5 of the forum classified section. Asking around $120,000 if I remember correctly.

Would you consider fiberglass for half that price?

Still looking and not looking for a "steal" but not looking to make someone feel good about the amount of money they got for their car either.
It seems like Black or Blue would be popular colors.

Would have been cheaper in october of 2007 when you first started looking but who knows what will happen another 5 years down the road.

I would have to agree. I got caught on a sour deal and went from hot to cold. I had bought a car after having sent the deposit (substanial) and booking the flight to pick up the car only to find the car was sold (post my deal/contract) and delievered to someone in Chicago. The seller wanted to keep my money and stay in his deal with the person in Chicago.
Anyway, at this point, a black aluminum CSX in sorted condition would be first pick followed by blue car. I just like the idea of aluminum after having had a number of Corvettes. The CSX just adds a little bit of pedigree.

Hehehe...................I was thinking Willy's.
Seriously, the bodywork/paint looks immaculate, a shame to color-change a perfect car. IMHO.
Thats the trouble with personalizing a car, whether its a '69 Z28 or a Cobra, it will always BE that person's car, no matter who owns it afterwards.
I personally don't have a problem with it. Bring it East, good chance no one has seen it here. Keep the color

The color takes $20k off the price. Whoever called for it was obviously going through some sort of crisis at the time.

Everybody's hung up on the color. Completely missing the fact that it's an eyelash away from 700HP on EFI.
If Kroyer set it up right, it's as easy to start as a Honda and less temperamental.
At 120K I'd buy it, soda-blast that paint and get to wire finish and leave it. Really make the seller cry.
Then-run it's nuts off.

Chas, if I were in the market, I wouldn't be hung up on the color for $120K. At or close to asking, I'm hung up.
I haven't been there recently, but looking on Cobra Country, the one thing I've noticed is that ERA's often get painted with non-standard colors, but for $50,000-$70,000, one can maybe tolerate the non-standard color more.

Uhhh, ya mean, like, beige? Let me tell you, if I had a nickel for every time I had someone tell me "thank God it's not another red, yellow, or blue Cobra" I'd have enough dough to buy that goof ball Black Cherry car.

Agreed. Many Shelbys come dressed in the 'blue uniform' of or near Guardsman. I think that's done to preserve resale which I think seems very important to Shelby owners.
In this case, I think black cherry may be beautiful unto itself but it does not enhance this car's character.
My ERA is 'blue'-but unlike any other, a custom mix. Not so much that I wanted to personalize it as I just got it to what I felt Cobras should look like. Though it's gone, I still get messages asking what color it is.
But if it were a CSX or K-car I'd have done the same thing.
That's just me.

Chas - I'd bet that Kroyer is set up right.
Razerwire has been spruiking Kroyer engines for some time now:
I'm amazed that no-one around here or on the FeForum has jumped on the "Multi awarded Engine building" Kroyer Racing engine bandwagon. They certainly use all the high-end parts, so I'm also willing to bet they aren't cheap...
Standard parts include:
Aluminum Block & Heads,
Steel billet crankshaft.
Carrillo connecting rods.
JE forged pistons, etc... (custom)
T/D racing shaft rocker arm assembly.
A bunch of other custom & billet stuff.
Motec engine management
TWM 58mm IR fuel injection
Dry-sump oil system (optional)

Not many guys on either forum are budgeted for high-end parts and HP like that. Many builders on each forum can match the power produced for less cash, with lesser parts that better suit the applications.
You don't put a Kroyer in a half-ton pickup or donor-car Cobra.
A Kroyer is meant for a vintage-raced T/A car or tracked original Cobra. Like Bruce's 3170.

It's still morning on the West Coast, patrickt.
Maybe a fair warning next time?

And to think some of us were actually enjoying this thread until patrickt ruined it (again).
To the OP, I hope you find what you're looking for. Check with Hillbank, as they had a solid blue alum CSX in their showroom not too long ago. Customer car but didn't have a For Sale sign on it. Doesn't hurt to ask.
